    A contour integral is an integral obtained by contour integration, where the path used to compute the integral in the complex plane is called the contour. A closed contour integral can be computed by summing the complex residues inside the contour. Watson uses the notation ∮C to denote the contour integral of f(z) with contour encircling the point z once counterclockwise.
