We can not equate "prediction" about the past to justification of past events. F
or e.g, if I give a set of dates and want to derive correctly what event may hav
e happened that day wrt to a chart will Nadi methods give me more success than o

Naadi methods r best...to start with....But yet 2 find specific...Most of the on
es available are 2 generalized....

There is a naadi upto 900th division of zodiac leading to each division
being just 120 vikalas(seconds) in space, that converts to just 4 seconds in ti
me. The predictions from such naadis are highly specific.

So, much depends on the type of Naadi, and the level of its division wh
ich is often called Sukshma Naadi, which is in possession of very few people.

But there are certain foundational principles working underneath, which
is not mentioned in naadi, as they contain only predicitions.

Chandrakala naadi offers good scope to work out principles.

Bhrigu Chakra paddhati is a widely applied principle in naadi, at least
in Chandrakala Naadi, as I know so far.

Agreed. Please give good books which help one study and get acquainted with Nadi
methods. I have read much about Nadi methods, Bhrigu Transits etc but nowhere d
etailed principles are given. Best book I have come across (just yesterday) till
date is 'Vedic Progressions' by Shri D.S.Mathur (Sagar Publications, Delhi). Re
ad just few pages but first method given is dividing Vimshottari Dasa in 12 part
s and treating Dasa lord progressing (hypothetical) one house for each such peri
od, thus completing 12 houses during full dasa. Illustrating, Moon will stay for
304.375 days in one house [(10 x 365.25) /12] during its dasa. It seems interes
ting and logical too. Please suggest similar books for Bhrigu Transits or Progre
ssions and other types of Nadi methods prevalent in North and South India

There are no books available which can spoon-feed one with predictive p
rinciples to be applied instantly for prediction.

The predictive principles have to be patiently developed by application
, discussion, doubt-clearance, and critical pondering and thinking in a scholarl
y fashion.

Principles are divided into two types: 1. Basic 2. Applied.

Basic principles are known to most people. But Applied principles are t
hose techniques which one develops meticulously by practicing a lot on various c
hakras, of course with a critical pondering, instead of repetitive application w
ithout convergent thinking.

So there comes a very critical point or question: How to identify or se
lect or interpret a good book? What does a good book actually mean? How to go ab
out it?

In my opinion, a good book is only as good as its author. So the histor
y of the author and reading the preface will give an idea about the tone of the
book.

The best way to go about is to memorise the sanskruta shlokas of classi
cs like Bruhadjaatakam alongwith its dasadhyaayi commentary.

Thereafter, once you read a shloka then you should try to decipher out
the basic principle behind it, as to why the author said that, and based on what
basic principle?
10. In this way, every shloka will be like an exercise, and your job will be t
o work out the basic principle behind it. Its painstaking but well-rewarded acti
vity. Then only application of principles can be understood, as to when to apply
and where and how.
