PARISH FINANCES Weekend 22nd 23rd October : Loose 603.03. Envelopes 264.25.
Standing Orders 446, Total 1,313.28. The retiring collection for World Mission Sunday
amounted to 678.02. Many, many thanks for your generosity. Next weekend there will be a
retiring collection for Bishops Maintenance Fund.
LONDON & SLOUGH RUN There will be members from the London & Slough Run speaking at
all Masses this weekend, regarding the forthcoming 'Sleepout' in aid of the homeless, which will
take place on the weekend of 25th November in the Slough area. There will be a retiring
collection held.
THANKS FROM MARY MC CARTHY Thank You to all parishioners at St Andrews for their

BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE As in previous years, the Book of Remembrance will be kept in the
Blessed Sacrament Chapel during November.
HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES These are now available in the Church porches. Please write the
names of your dear ones and put in the envelope with your offering. The envelopes can be
returned with the usual collection or put them through the letter box at the Presbytery. Your dear
ones will be remembered at all the Masses for the Holy Souls offered during November.

Morning Prayer is prayed before every weekday Mass and the Rosary is prayed after
Mass: all are welcome to join us

FEAST OF ALL SAINTS - HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION On 1st November the Church
celebrates the Feast of All Saints (in old English 'All Hallows' - from which the term 'Halloween'
originates - the Eve of All Hallows). It is a Holy Day of Obligation, which means it is one of the
essential days for Catholics in our Faith and so, like Sunday, it is a day for us to come to Mass.
The Feast honours the triumph of God's grace in the lives of all those who are now in heaven.

ALL SOULS DAY is celebrated on the following day - 2nd November. Here we pray for all who
have died in Gods grace and friendship, but may still need our prayers as they prepare to enter
into the fullness of heaven. This is why we pray and offer Masses for our deceased relatives and
friends during the month of November in particular.
REJOICE IN MOTHERHOOD : MOTHERS PRAYERS For Mothers who wish to pray together
for their children and grandchildren - Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties! Please come and join us
as we pray for our children, Our Lady of Peace Church at 10.30am on Thursdays. All Christian
faiths welcome. For further information please speak to Denise.
DONATIONS OF FOREIGN COINS After your Summer holidays if you have returned with any
foreign coins which you do not want to keep until your next holiday! we welcome any coins or
notes, old coins are also useful to us eg old decimal and pre-decimal UK money and
European Francs, Deutschmarks, Punts etc. Please leave in the Sacristy marked Foreign
coins, or give to Yvonne or Denise.

ADORATION There will be an extended Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Monday, 31st
October from 7.00pm to midnight at Our Lady of Peace. Pope Francis has stressed that "In this
world, we need profound conversion and an urgent revival of faith in Christ". All welcome to join
us in prayer for the Holy Fathers intention.
VOCATIONS WEEKEND at Northampton Cathedral 4th 6th November. Come follow me and I
will make you Fishers of Men. Is the Lord calling you to the Priesthood? For more information

CHURCH CLEANING Saturday,5th November at 8.30am. Please try and spare an hour to help.
CAFOD MASSES OF REMEMBRANCE. 6th November. You are warmly invited to attend a CAFOD
Memorial Mass This year we have two venues where the Memorial Masses will be held, both on the
same day :10:30am Sacred Heart Church, 5 Beaudesert, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 1HZ.
11am Corpus Christi, 88 Wharton Road, Headington, Oxford OX3 8AJ. These will be the regular
weekend Masses of the parish. However our Book of Remembrance will be included as part of the
offertory procession and prayers will be offered in memory of all CAFOD supporters who have passed
away. Refreshments will be served in the hall after both the Masses. If you would like the name of a
loved one to be included in the Book of Remembrance, please let them know
via northampton@cafod.org.uk or 01844 274 723 by 1st November.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL AND THE CATHOLIC WOMENS LEAGUE invite you to a celebration
of Mass with the sacramental anointing of the sick at St Andrews on Saturday, 26th November at
2.00pm. This will be followed by a tea party. Transport can be arranged, if required please

LUX is a residential for young Catholics aged 11-18 years of age (secondary school). Twice a
year 100 young people gather together to celebrate our faith by meeting new friends, learning
new stuff and praising God. All this, and having the most unforgettable weekend of their life! The
Lux weekend costs 85 per person, and some bursary places are available. They gather at the
Kings Park Conference Centre in Northampton, and the next weekend is on 3rd 5th February
2017. This years theme is Mirth, we are called to be happy and rejoice! For more information
