Description
Ocean going, heavy lift and semi
submersible heavy deck cargo barge.
Hull form including stern skeggs and foils
are specially designed and tested in ship
model basin to give good course stability
and increased towing speed. All bollards
and manholes are recessed, giving an
absolute flush deck.
The pontoon is divided into 15 water
ballast tanks, each with two manholes,
pneumatic sounding system and a
remotely controlled ballast system.
Watertight engine and pump is located
forward below main deck.

Submerging
Free float submerging (option)
By installation of caissons on the deck
free float submerging can be made
possible.
Grounding
The barge has to be grounded during
the submerging. The grounding site is
item for special considerations.

Ballasting
General
The barge is equipped with a remotely
operated ballasting / deballasting system,
with a pumping capacity of 3 000 m3/hour.
System operated from control room.
Tanks
The ballast system consists of a total of
15 ballast tanks, all located in the pontoon.
All tanks connected to the remotely
controlled ballast system and to the
remote sounding system.

Machinery Equipment
Generator
The barge is equipped with a diesel
operated generator, type Yanmar Diesel
6KF(A)L, supplying approx. 120 kW at
440V and 60 Hz to the main board for
general power supply onboard the barge.
Ballast Pumps
2 x 1 500 m3/hour.
The pumps are powered by 2 x Yanmar
Diesel 6KFL-HT engines.

Mooring / Anchoring

Winch/Windlass
Fwd one windlass installed with warping
end for possible cargo handling on deck
when submerged.
Anchor
1 x 3,5 tonnes stockless anchor, with a
total of approx. 240 m of 52 mm k3
anchorchain.
Bollards
The barges bollards comprises:
- 5 double bollards located on
each side.
- 1 double bollard located in each
recess aft.
Towing equipment
Main towing equipment
The barges main towing equipment
comprises:
1. Two towing brackets located at main
deck level, SB and Port side, and
approx. at frame 3.
2. A chain towing bridle consisting of two
chain legs of approx. 20 m length each,
a triangular plate (delta plate) and a
chain pigtail of approx. 8 m length,
complete with shackles and end links.

Emergency towing equipment


The barges emergency towing
arrangement comprises:
1. A smith bracket located at the middle
of the forecastle deck.
2. A chain of length approx. 4 metres
connecting the emergency towing wire
to the smith bracket.
3. An emergency towing wire of length
approx. 120 meters, secured to the side
of the barge, and with a spelter socket at
the aft of the barge.
4. Corresponding shackles.

Capacities
The towing equipment has a SWL of
85 tonnes. I.e. according to the typical
class rules, tugs with a bollard pull up
to 116 tonnes can be used without any
restriction on the towing force.
Navigation Equipment
The barge is equipped with navigation
lights according to rules and flag authority.
The system is electrically powered and
installed with solar cells.
Fuel Oil Tank
A fuel oil tank with capacity of 7 m3 is
installed.
