Call the NCR bridge line 678-808-6800 Pin 98777# to check in:

Validate you are at the correct ATM (Terminal ID and address)

Verify the new Terminal ID to be used
Confirm ATM Model, ATM Serial Number and EPP keyboard number
Confirm the scope of work (New cores are preloaded with Gold Master)
Reminder to perform Settlement prior to starting (EJ pull and totals) REQUIRED
CE must email Cardtronics prior to starting software load

Application Verification (This process is to verify the path you need to take when performing the
settlement process.

1. Enter into Supervisor mode

2. Verify screens as shown below. You will skip to the proper Settlement instructions based on the screen
that you have.
( Follow Activate Settlement)
( Follow Settlement for NDC)

a.

SETTLEMENT Activate (prior to software reload)

1. From the Main Menu, press (1) Settlement Menu.
a)
Enter password 2274.
2. Press (1) Replenish Menu.
3. Press (1) Cash Replenishment.

Press ENTER at the Replenish Cash screen.

At the Cash Replenishment screen press (01) and ENTER
Under # Items you will enter 0 and press ENTER.
At the Cash Replenishment menu, press ENTER again to confirm the totals.
At the Cash Dispenser Test menu, press ENTER to continue.
Once Cassette totals are updated successfully is displayed, press CANCEL until Switch to
Normal is displayed.
10. Close the top of the ATM to complete exiting the Main Menu.
11. The ATM will perform self-tests, once complete press ENTER to continue to the In-Service
screen.
12. Save the receipt from this step as you will need the Totals to settle the ATM once software is
reloaded.

Settlement NDC
1. Print out a current cash count
a. While on the welcome screen, insert and remove the Cardtronics Settlement Card
b. Choose English
c. Enter PIN of 1111
d. Select Print Cash
e. Your totals will print out on a receipt; save this, you will need it later
f. When the machine asks if you would like another transaction, choose Yes
g. Select Reset Cash
h. You will receive another receipt; place both of them inside the safe on the left side for cash
replenishers
2. Copy the Electronic Journal to the supplied USB thumb drive (REQUIRED)
a. Take the machine in supervisor mode
b. Insert the USB drive into any available USB port of the PC
c. If you are at the Select menu, press option 4 for Replenish; if you are already at the replenish
menu, continue to the next step
d. Press option 99 for More
e. Press option 40 for Init Ejrnl
f. If you receive the message Copy to Drive Failed proceed to step g; otherwise proceed to step
m
g. Press cancel to back out of the Replenish menu
h. Press option 5 for Configure
i. Press option 99 for More
j. Press option 34 for EJ Options

k. Press option 3 for Enable Multiple Destinations

l. Press 1 and then enter to confirm; it will show Multiple Destinations Enabled at the bottom of
the screen. Press cancel twice and return to step c
m. When presented with a list of destinations to copy the journal, choose the number that
corresponds with USB Drive and press enter
n. If successful, you will see EJ Log Copied OK
o. Remove the USB thumb drive and leave in the safe with your settlement receipts on the left side
for the replenishers; write the old Terminal ID and date on thumb drive
p. Proceed to Software Installation

Hardware Installation
Install all new hardware prior to beginning software installation
1. Enhanced Dispenser Security Prom
a. Required on 2014, 2016, 5362, 5877 ATMs
b. Already installed on 2012,6622, 6626, 6632, 6634, 6638 ATMs
2. Additional memory where core is not being upgraded (4GB required)
3. Core
a. Talladega Cores for 5362 and 5877 ATMs
b. Riverside Cores for 2012, 2014, 2016 ATMs
4. Card Reader
a. Card reader replacement required on 5362 and 5877 ATMs
5. Printer
a. 80mm printer upgrade for 5362 ATMs with a 60mm printer

Software Installation (new cores are preloaded with gold master DVD1)
1. Send email to Level2project@cardtronics.com.
a. Subject: EMV Activate MC
b. Body: Old ATM ID / New ATM ID / EPP S/N
2. SKIP to Step 8 if you installed a CORE otherwise continue to Step 3.
3. If needed see Addendum (B&C), for BIOS settings version 5.6.6.1 required, otherwise
4. Insert the Golden Master (GM) installation media and reboot the ATM.

5. Installation will start with a window prompt asking if you would like to continue with extracting the Image
to the hard drive. Press any key to continue.

**PLEASE NOTE: This installation cannot be left unattended.

6. The image will be written to the hard drive and when this process is completed, the following screen will be
displayed.

7. Remove the Installation Media and Press any key to continue then the ATM will reboot.
8. ATM will reboot and come up to the screen below. This process will take approximately 20 minutes to
complete.
9. After this process is completed, ATM will reboot and continue to ATM CONFIGURATION.

ATM Configuration
1. The ATM will come up to the screen below.
2. Insert the Personality CD and clicking OK on the Please Insert Personality Disk Now window.

3. Once the personality CD has completed its function, you will be prompted the remove the CD.

4. Once the personality CD has completed its function, you will be prompted to insert Terminal Disk.

5. Once the terminal CD has completed its function, you will be prompted to remove it.

6. Make sure you remove the Terminal Disk CD media from the media drive.
Next step, the ENVIRONMENT CONFIGURATION window should appear.

Environment Configuration (IMPORTANT: if you do this incorrectly you will

need to reload the software)
1.

You will see a dialog box (Personality Wizard Activate) prompting you to enter information about the
ATM as shown in the next screenshot.

2. Use the <TAB> key to move around to the different fields and Select the New Terminal ID for the Kiosk
from the list provided or use the keyboard to type in the specified Terminal ID (Any letters typed in the
Terminal ID field have to be uppercase).
3. Once the specific NEW Terminal ID is entered, <TAB> down to the Environment Type and select the
specified Environment; Model Options are :

Note: You are selecting the ATM Model.

** PLEASE NOTE: Once the correct selections are made the ATM detail will be displayed right below the
select button window. Use the scroll bar to verify the entire ATM information is correct.

5. <TAB> to highlight Select Button and press enter on the Keyboard to update the configuration.

If no errors were discovered during the Personality configuration process, the ATM will reboot several
times and you will see various screens during this time. No input is required during this time proceed to
Bringing ATM Live for next steps

7. Remove the Keyboard and Mouse and Close the top half of the ATM. When it reboots it
needs to be out of Supervisor

BRING ATM LIVE

1.

Enter the DATE and TIME from Supervisor Menu

a.
Press Cancel to navigating from the Fault(s) list
b.
Maintenance Menu >Select Supervisor Menu >Enter Password >All Other Maintenance >
Configure Menu >Set DateTime.
c.
Then update all fields listed.
NOTE: Time should be entered to match the local time (DO NOT CHANGE OR UPDATE THE TIME ZONE)

Exit Supervisor screen by pressing cancel button until you see Switch To Normal screen.

If you close the Fascia Door the Out of Service Screen will come up.

ATM SOFTWARE INSTALLATION IS NOW COMPLETE.

a. You will see the Out -of Service screen for 15 minutes and you should see the ATM Reboot. If it
does not reboot you will need to call 800-786-9666 option 8 for assistance.
6. After the Reboots you should see the Welcome Screen

Settlement - Post Software Load

13. From the Main Menu, press (1) Settlement Menu.

Enter password 2274.
14. Press (1) Replenish Menu.
15. Press (1) Cash Replenishment.
16. Press ENTER at the Replenish Cash screen.
17. At the Cash Replenishment screen press (01) and ENTER. (If you have more than one selection
please call Level II (800-786-9666 opt 8)
18. Under # Items you will enter the REMAINING number from the receipt you received in the
Settlement Pre Software Reload on page 1 and press ENTER.

19. At the Cash Replenishment menu, press ENTER again to confirm the totals.
20. At the Cash Dispenser Test menu, press ENTER to continue.
21. Once Cassette totals are updated successfully is displayed, press CANCEL until Switch to
Normal is displayed.
22. Close the top of the ATM to complete exiting the Main Menu.
23. The ATM will perform self-tests, once complete press ENTER to continue to the In-Service
screen.
24. Perform a good transaction (Valid or Invalid PIN) and verify the new terminal ID on the receipt
for this transaction.

NCR USB Dispenser Authentication (Required on all ATMs before you leave)
Due to new security measures enabled in Activate, you must Authenticate the USB dispenser
Please follow the steps below to complete the Authentication.

Select Vendor Mode from the Maintenance Menu.

From the SYSAPP main menu, select 8 - Self Service Configuration.
Select 3 Hardware Device Configuration
Select the USB Cash Dispenser from the device menu.
If the device requires Authentication, you will see an option to perform the Authentication.
With the safe door open, press the correct button to perform the authentication.
You will be promoted to Remove and insert the BOTTOM cassette or toggle the switch on
the dispenser control board within 10 Seconds
After performing this step, you will see a message that the dispenser is Authenticated.
Back out of SYSAPP and continue with the installation

Addendum B: NCR ATM BIOS Settings 5362 and 5877

1.

Arrow down to Boot Device Priority and press Enter. Press Enter again with 1st Boot Device
highlighted. Then choose CD/DVD drive as first boot option and press Enter. Next press F10 and then
press Enter for OK.

ATM will reboot after completing the BIOS settings.

Addendum C: NCR Talladega Core Bios UPDATE if not version 5.6.6.1

Insert the Talladega Bios Update Disk. Reboot the ATM and update will start automatically.

Allow the update to run to completion and you will see the screen below.

Remove the Disk and Press 3 on your Keyboard
