You may wish to discuss these with your advisor of studies. Alternatively, you may wish to ask a friend or family member, and

In the website I have just created is the evidence for the


level of competence to write about myself as thats what
I did on the about me page. This is what I need to build
and work on.

My evidence for this is I have used the internet to send


emails and to hand my assignments in over google
classroom.
Downloading a file from the internet is easy as I did it
earlier on to get the picture I wanted for my website.
Google is easy to use I am using it to get onto my
website.

not then best at this as I leave my assignments to the last

This is my plan of action as I have never worked on a database before so I dont know what to do, but Im sure I
can get help from my mum or dad if I need to learn that for my job role or I could get special training. This also
links to the ability to create a database.

Another plan for development is this I need to be able to reflect on what I have done that is right and that is wrong
on my own performance and other peoples, for this I think I need to practice.

The last plan is to be able to express myself in writing, I am not very good at this as I never know what to write for
example when writing my personal statement I found it hard as I didnt know what to exactly write so I have to
look at other examples.

COMMUNICATION
Communication may be formal or informal, personal or impersonal, creative or factual. Messages may be delivered verbally, in writing or nonverbally. There are many areas where examples of each communication approach may have been successfully applied, at university, at work, at
home, etc
Written - Ability to express self well in writing such as Ability to express self well in writing
Essays/reports for School/University, competitions, Scholarships, Work. I am capable of doing this as for
college we have to write assignments for our course work so I can write essays and reports when doing
assigments.

Reports/Minutes from Committees/Clubs. I can write minutes for example when we have meetings from
having project meetings at college I now know how to write and take minutes.

Personal Statements/Covering letters for CVs, Application forms. I am in with writing my personal statement for
university, I have got a CV and a covering letter for my personal uses.

Posters for forthcoming events or to present research gathered, when we held our job fair we made posters so people
would know about it and they would turn up, this is a picture of them we put them up on the walls around college to
attract people to come to our event being held.

Letters to gain sponsorship/support, contact new friends/old friends


E-mail contacts for any of the above, I can write emails to other people for example when I email my tutors if I need abit
of help or guidence on one of my assignments.

Verbal:
Informal ability to network easily with other people I have the confience to talk to others making new friends as socially so this could also be
going out with friends and working as part of a team for example group work this could be when we are running our project working together as
one.
Formal ability to express self clearly and concisely to a group, I can present to a group of people for example when we our running our project
I am the project manager so I have to stand up at the front of the classroom and present formally to the rest of the group. In interviews
I get nervous for exmaple when we had our appresals I got nervous and didnt know what to say as I dont like talkinf about myself to
people I dont know.

Non-verbal:
Listening I have the ability to attend actively to others views and ideas and understand their point of view so listening to what others have to
say for example when working as part of a team we have to listen to one another. I can listen as when on my driving lessons I have to
listen to what my instructor is saying so I know what im doing right and wrong.
Body Language ability to match body language appropriately to what is being said verbally, I am okay at this for example the other week
when we had employers in we had to look profesional and show that we have good body language by making eye contact with them to shoo that
we are paying attention and listening.

WORKING WITH OTHERS


Working with others is a skill highly valued by employers. Suitable evidence for this skill need not be limited to work experience. You should
think of all aspects of your work, studies and social life.
Cooperation - Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, I developed this through NCS as we wokred together as part of a team.i will also
be taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh.

Negotiation - Ability to reach a mutually satisfactory outcome through compromise, this situation happens quite often at work when you have to
make a compramise with people for example when sorting shifts out say you didnt want to work one day but there was no one else to do the
shift until later on you could compramise and split the shift
Sensitivity- Ability to respond appropriately to individual differences, as a student rep I habe to respond to all the inderviduals differently as
noone is the same, people have different needs.
Leadership - Ability to encourage and motivate others this is being a team leader for example in our project I show leadership
skills by taking charge of it as I am the manager.

File Management Techniques - Ability to create, store and retrieve files I am able to do this I
know all the basics for this. For exmaple how to make and create folders.
Word Processing - I have the Ability to use a word processing package to produce a variety of
formats of documents for example I created my personal statement by using this.
Spreadsheets I can use a spreadsheet to record and manipulate different sets of data but not to
an advanced level as we havent done much work on them.
Databases not very good at need to improve.

Presentations I have the ability to create and display a PowerPoint presentation for example in my work later on.
Information and Communication - I know how to send and receive emails from google and
hotmail. I can send emails with attatchments and pictures. I am able to use the internet for example
google and the internet explorer to do research for assignments. I know how to download flies from
the internet for example application forms for jobs or downloading assignment breifs.

PROBLEM SOLVING
Creativity - Ability to generate new ideas or conceive existing ideas in a new way, for example
when thinking of ways to write things for example new ways of approaching coursework.

Self Management
Self-awareness I have the ability to identify and reflect on own strengths and weaknesses in relation to my own personal development for
example I need to work on being more confident about myself as this is what I lack. I can identify most of my skills that I have. I view my
educational development regularly for example on our tracker which shows what we have achieved. My career plan is to go to university and get
a job as a buyer or something to do with an international company.

reading the news often and backing up my points.

These are very specific statements and you should be able to provide the required evidence. The kinds of questions you should be asking
yourself are: - Do you use a timetable to organize assignments and prepare for exams?, Do you use a diary to record times and locations of
classes and adviser of study sessions? Are you fully aware of how you learn most effectively and make full use of the current range of
learning opportunities available to you? etc.
