API 571: Supplemental Inspection Certification Program

Damage Mechanisms Affecting Fixed Equipment in the Refining and
Petrochemical Industries (API Exam Preparation Training)

This course is designed to do two things:

1. Train individuals who are interested in obtaining the API 571 Inspector Certification.
2. Provide individuals with an advanced knowledge of how corrosion mechanisms drive RBI conclusions.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Proper identification of damage mechanisms is important when implementing

Course Duration
6 full days

the API Inspection Codes (API 510, API 570, API 653) and conducting Risk Based
Inspection (RBI) per API 580 and API 581. The objective of this program is to
provide documented evidence of advanced knowledge and expertise in the
area of Corrosion and Materials based on the information contained in API RP
571. An API Supplemental Inspection Certification is defined as Documentation

that indicates that minimum requirements have been met for additional
qualification in the designated area of expertise. This certificate will add value
to your professional credentials and show your employers and clients that you
have obtained a high level of proficiency and understanding in this field. This
supplemental inspection certification program is open to anyone who is currently
certified to either API 510, 570 or 653. Included with the course is a pre-study

guide and student classroom workbook. The student receives instruction

regarding how to take the test, as well as insight into its application in real
world situations. Daily tests have been designed to gauge students proficiency
and understanding of the material.

Payment Information
Prepayment in full, 30 days
prior to the class, is required.

Note: T
his does not register you for the API exam. If you have not already registrered for the
API exam, you need to download an application from the API website (www.api.org/icp).

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Individuals who are interested in obtaining the API 571 Certification

Any Inspector or Engineer interested in the refinery corrosion area

API requires that anyone who is going to take the test must be currently
certified as API 510, 570, or 653 Inspector

TESTIMONIALS
The class was very informative and I believe worth the price of admission
without the exam considered. It was a pleasure to meet you both and always
welcome new relationships in the business. - Minor B. Taylor -
