Karishma Shahani Khan a Fashion Design & Technology graduate from the London College of
Fashion, United Kingdom has worked on various projects and initiatives that focus on design,
sustainability and education in the field of fashion spanning projects on employment generation,
women empowerment, skill development, garment production and retail.
Khan is the creative director of Ka-Sha, a fashion and textile centric label based in Pune, India.
The label focuses on design as a form of storytelling. Influenced by multi-layered cultures and
ever- changing social landscapes, Ka Sha endeavours to celebrate handcraft, in all its forms,
adding to the individualistic expression of a product. Through a balance of localisation and
globalisation, matching contrast with harmony and merging art with sustainability, the label aims to
re-interpret materials based on current needs and functionality, with love from India.
Ka-Sha is a part of parent company Change By Design LLP that was co-founded by Khan and her
husband Wasim Khan that provides Design Services and Products beyond the realm of Fashion.
LABEL MISSION
Ka-Sha by Karishma Shahani Khan, founded in 2011 post Khans graduation from the London
College of Fashion, United Kingdom, focuses on design as a form of storytelling.
The philosophy of the products lie in design as a celebration with an aim to Think global, act local.
The labels aesthetics lie in influences from multi-layered cultures and the ever-changing social
landscapes of our modern India, obsessed with its past but treading on to create new stories.
Ka-Sha endeavours to celebrate handcraft through clothing and products that re-interpret materials
based on current needs and functionality, with love from India. With a focus on merging art with
sustainability, the label strives to follow fair trade practices, procure quality produce and adheres to
a strict zero-waste policy. The Label also produces a line called Heart To Haat that works with all
the waste produced and second hand clothing to create new clothing and products.
Featured in an array of international and domestic publications, Ka-Sha regularly showcases its
seasonal collections on reputed platforms and has received notable awards and nominations for its
work in design and sustainability.
The label is a part of Change By Design LLP, a design-centric company that provides Design
Services and Products beyond the realm of Fashion. The company was co-founded by Karishma
Shahani Khan and Wasim Khan, with its head-quarters in Pune, India.

environment of various communities in Bangladesh. The culmination was part of a showcase All
Silk Yards of Benarasi, held in Spitalfields, London.
