We manufacture all types of cationic bitumen emulsions from slow set to rapid set
emulsion and with bitumen content ranging from 38% to 70%, in accordance with
local and international standards.
Bitumen emulsions consists of fine globules of bitumen, suspended in an aqueous
medium by means of suitable emulsifying agents. Technological progress is still
being made to elevate the standards of this material in its use within road and

AP Binder

AlloyMtd DJ AP Binder is an inter-mixture of approved


polymer-modified bitumen binder, APJ200 and a specially
chosen aggregate.

Consisting of a homogeneous mixture of synthetic rubber, chemical additive, mineral filler


and special type of high quality bitumen together with applied bonding sealant that makes
it ideal for various industrial functions.

Abridged Specification:
AlloyMtd DJ AP Binder is an asphaltic plug bridge expansion joint as defined under the
standards of UK DoT BD33/94. The standard joint has the following movement capabilities:

Binder
The binder used in the construction of an asphaltic plug
joint must have the following characteristics:
Remain flexible in cold conditions
Be stable in hot conditions
Be flow resistant

AlloyMtd DJ AP Binder is delivered to site in boxes in its solid


state, where it is heated in special boilers to its normal usage
temperature range of 180C to 200C. The maximum safe
heating condition is 6 hours at 200C.
AlloyMtd DJ AP Binder employs special aggregate sizes
normally selected from the Granite groups listed in BS812.
Aggregate sizes used may range from 20mm for the standard
joint to 10-14mm for shallower joints. This ensures a uniform
ratio of stone to binder, which is essential to give the best
combination of flexibility and load bearing capacity. The
stone is cleaned, sized and bagged under factory conditions
for dispatch to site.

Aluminium or mild steel bridging plate of appropriate sizes


spans gaps to prevent stones from entering the gap during
joint installation. For gaps over 50mm wide, the bridging plate
also acts to support wheel loads across the gap.

AlloyMtd DJ All Weather Thermoplastic (AWT) Road Marking materials are made from a high performance thermoplastic
composition. Its core elements consist of a blend of microcrystalline ceramic beads and high reflective index glass beads
that are optimised to meet the demands of WET and DRY conditions while delivering with improved reflectivity and durability.
AlloyMtd DJ AWT road marking materials are manufactured in strict compliance to BS EN 1436: 2007 + A1: 2008 and BS
EN 1871: 2000. The product is a SIRIM certification scheme and ISO: 9001: 2008 certification.

AlloyMtd DJ Thermoplastic Road Markings materials are a high performance product in every respect.
Made from selected high raw materials, its performance is second to none.
AlloyMtd DJ Thermoplastic Road Markings can be obtained in various colours (white, yellow, red,
etc.) and are well suited to various road and climatic conditions. The materials can be screed or
spray applied. Profile markings with in-built visual, audio and sensory features are also available
for improved visibility during night or wet conditions.
AlloyMtd DJ Thermoplastic Road Markings are manufactured in strict compliance to BS 3262:
Part 1: 1989 and MS 1303: Part 1: 1993. The product comes under a SIRIM Certification

AlloyMtd DJ Patchmix is a cold premix which has no mixing, no heating, no special tools or
bulky equipment are required. This means using this product will cause minimal or even no
disruption to traffic flow since it is relatively easier to handle.

AlloyMtd DJ Patchmix Specification

The product is available in 25kg bag, 50kg bag and 25kg pail packing which makes it
easily transportable, anywhere and anytime. Plus, no special skills are needed meaning

Microsurfacing Application & Services

Aggregate
We select high quality aggregate constituting almost 90% of the

versatility compared to conventional mix processes. It is the best all-round choice suitable for a
variety of asphaltic concrete surfaces plus rigid concrete pavements.

are the 0/3mm, 0/5mm and 0/8mm gradations depending on the actual
road conditions and requirements.

We offer one of the most versatile solution in the road maintenance arsenal. Microsurfacing is
a polymer modified cold-applied paving system, which provides a highly stable and durable
surface. Based on proven German technology and having been successfully implemented
in Malaysia, microsurfacing offers a cost-effective technique to solve a broad range of
problems that are common to all classes of road. Microsurfacing is suitable for:
Fretting at the edges
Wheel track rutting
Non-active surface cracking
Low skid resistance
Polished asphalt/concrete surface
Bleeding surface

Microsurfacing binder is a water-based bitumen emulsion specially


modified with latex elastomers and unique additives. Latex-modification
of the binder improves the rutting resistance at high temperatures and
enhances the durability of the pavement.

Standard Microsurfacing Overlay

Reprofiling with Microsurfacing

The existing asphalt surface has a good cross-sectional


profile. A surface sealing may be applied by applying
two standard layers of the Microsurfacing system. This
application will restore traffic safety, skid resistance, good
quality and appearance completely.

When the road has other deformations, re-profiling with


a Microsurfacing mix is recommended. In the scratch
course procedure, the full-width spreader box is set at
0 (the levelling device is in contact with the highest
points of the surface). The depressions are filled and
the surface is brought to the desired profile. Once the
re-profiling application has been cured under traffic, a
uniform Microsurfacing layer is applied.

The standard AlloyMtd DJ AP Joint is constructed to withstand a total longitudinal movement of 50mm;
i.e. 25mm from the mean gap position. Optimum movement capability is achieved in standard joints of
50mm wide and 100mm deep.

A unique asphaltic plug bridge movement joint system
AlloyMtd DJ AP-Joint is categorised under the asphaltic plug bridge expansion joints group as defined under the
UK Department of Transport BD33/94 Standard: Expansion Joints for use in Highway Bridge Decks. It is designed
as a smooth riding, watertight movement joint for bridge with medium size movement capacity of up to 50mm.

The joint can also accommodate normally anticipated rotation and transverse movements. Guideline for
joint dimensions and its corresponding movement capabilities are as follows:-

The formulation of APJ200 is based on a special blend of bitumen; polymer, and others, formulated to meet
the high rigorous standards set and is continuously updated after more than a decade of field experience
under hot tropical conditions throughout the country.

400mm to 750mm:
Acceptable and may be used for specific reasons

75mm to 175mm:
Normal range

Strict adherence to specific installation method is required to produce a high performance joint system
and it is therefore recommended that the joint is always installed or supervised by our own trained crews.

Over 750m:
Not usually permitted

Over 175mm:
Not common but may be used in footways/verges

AlloyMtd DJ AP Joint is constructed in situ and comprised a special polymer-modified binder, APJ200, and a
special blend of aggregate of size 10-20mm graded granite.

125mm wide x 1.5mm thick aluminium flashing strip locating pins.
