October 2016
Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for
you, and how he has had mercy on you. ~Jesus (Mark 5:19 NIV)
Saludos friends, family and church family,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We pray this mission
letter finds you well, full of hope, and filled with His Goodness! Please pray with us
as we seek to please God and embrace His fulfillment in us.
October Mission News and now the count down has begun
Our 3 month; resting/working/traveling/sharing ministry in Santo Domingo/getting
to serve our GA home church/spending time with family and friends/hugging
grandchildren-lots/going to football and soccer games/being fed and fed/loved on
and loved on furlough is coming to a close we return to the land God gave us to
help serve and love into the Kingdom on November 17th. We are ready almost it
is never easy leaving either country there will be lots of tears but God is Good and
we are blessed to be part of His Mission in the place He sent us. October was full. We
were busy traveling in 3 States and serving our home church and visiting The Mission
Society Office and Staff, the Secretary of States Office for Apostiles for visa renewals
in December projects on top of projects and ministry with youth and little people
who have blessed us wonderfully. Our family is precious and we get to hold on to
them extra tightly a little longer our friends have gone over and beyond the word
friend their encouragement and love and hugs have been true examples of their
love for God and His Mission, and for us. We are grateful!
October came and went with
lots of travel and church visits
and thanks be to God,
Graham gets us to everywhere
we need to be and on time. In
October we visited Smyrna First
UMC, County Line UMC, Alcoa
FUMC, Norcross FUMC where
we were given many
opportunities to speak with
Sunday School classes, after
Wednesday Night Suppers and
during Worship. Sharon also
shared Gods heart in Santo
Domingo with the Hispanic
Congregation of NFUMC all in
Spanish!! Our home churchs
Pastor gave us the entire
message time for all 3 services,
and ministry time with the
children in each service. We are
sooo grateful for all who have
opened their hearts and arms
to us and our story and the
stories of those we serve.

We have been able to

connect and reconnect
with most of our
supporting churches, and
have had time to just be
together and talk life
with some of our most
favorite people on this
Continent. Jesus was all
about relationships and
He has graciously
blessed us with
friendships that have
turned into family. There
just arent enough days
in the months to be able
to visit all our wonderful
churches. It is our hope
to be able to visit all our
supporting congregations
the next time we are
stateside. Each body of
Christ is equally as
important and part of the
ministry God gave us,
blessings to us and all
those we serve in ECU!

While home we
have been able to
serve with the
children and youth
of our home
church, Lewis
Memorial UMC a
mission project
with our youth
involved baking
300 homemade
cookies, bagging
the cookies, and
delivering them to
our local public
servants the
police and fire
departments.
There were M&Ms
and Chocolate
Chips everywhere,
but we had a great
time serving
others together.
Sharon helped
with the Bible
Black Belt Program
when needed and
loved so much
helping the
children with the
Scripture of the
week!

While the men of our home church were at their annual Mens Retreat, the churchs 2017
Ecuador Volunteers in Mission held a Miles for Missions 5K and Family Fun Run to help support
their expenses for next years mission. An event with a great deal of preparation and
wonderfully planned by the groups co-leaders. An excellent but brrrrr-day with runners,
walkers, venders, bounce houses, live music and venders. And Sharon led, with lots of helping
hands, the youths food booth of grilled hotdogs and homemade chili. Buen trabajo Lewis
Memorial-ECU-VIM, a super-awesome success!! Our Pastor participated and ran as well she
will be part of her very first foreign mission and she gets to come to Ecuadorrrrr!!!

Between Church
visits in 3 States,
Wednesday night
meals, Cookies 4
Cops, Bible Black
Belt, meals with
great fellowship,
and the 5K, we
got to attend the
football and
ftbol~soccer
games of our 2
grandchildren
the Bible doesnt
call them grand
for nothin!!
Gray #57 is an
outstanding High
School Junior,
Scholar Athlete
Aidan #10 is
an outstanding
Middle Schooler,
Scholar Soccer
player. The BEST
part they know
and love Jesus!
We are 2 very,
very proud
grandparents!

Always the servant in

his spare time Graham
has painted a new
Conference room in the
Church and Grants
kitchen and dining
room in the Parsonage
he always, always
takes great care of his
Church and his family
and friends!
And so dear people as our stateside ministry comes to a close for this season we
are now in that place where we have been before preparing to leave those we love
soo very much to be reunited with those we also love soo very much. Pray for us
please this is one of the hard parts when following Jesus separation. But this we
know without a single doubt, we are never alone, God promised to see us through
this life. And through soo many He has cared for us and ministered to us graciously
we have been in the presence of the heart of Jesus!
We praise God from Whom ALL blessings flow. We are soo very grateful for the support we have
received and continue to receive in prayers and financial blessings which helps greatly to keep
us going in the direction God is moving in our lives to the places and people He places in our
paths. As ministry continues to grow and spill over into other communities filled with children
nearby GLORY!! we are humbled to be included in the lives of all the people God generously
gives us to love and to be able to help to keep warm and dry, and now cool and dry equator
living!! And along the way the blessing and calling of feeding them spiritually and emotionally
and physically. Please prayerfully consider joining Jesus in His mission alongside us feeding
hungry tummies and sweet little hearts as we be the Gospel for the people as empowered by
His Good and Faithful Spirit. We simply cannot continue in His service here without your prayers
and financial partnership and support. We thank God for you all!
God bless the faithful who have kept us going and continue to be blessings in our lives and in
the lives we are called to serve and love into the Kingdom together. Thank you!! It is an
incredible JOY!!!
Yours in Christ,
Graham and Sharon
