ABSTRACT
Self Efficacy has important role in performing self care of leprosy. The
family has roles and functions to reinforce this bye giving family support. This
study aimed to determine the correlation of family support with self efficacy on
self care of leprosy disease in Sumberbaru Primary Health Care Centre Working
District in Jember Regency. The reseach used analythical observation method
with cross sectional approach. The sample consisted of 14 respondents. The result
showed that 57,1% family gave proper family support to client and 57,1% of
client had high self efficacy. The result using the Spearman rank statistic showed
p 0.006<0.05 with a correlation coefficient of 0.695 that meant there was strong
correlation between family support with self efficacy on self care of leprosy
disease in Sumberbaru Primary Health Care Centre Working District in Jember
Regency. Nurses need to enhance self efficacy of leprosy client through providing
information of the importance of family support, facilitating when client and
family have problems to manage leprosy disease.
