Phase 5: expand (All Players)

PLAYER AID
Players start with the First Player and proceed clockwise.

Phase 1: Events (First Player only)


1. RAVAGER RETALIATION : Complete Enemy actions according to the Scenario
instructions.
2. EVENTS : Resolve the effects of all Event cards and Bosses in play. First player
chooses the order.
3. SCANNING REPORT : Draw and resolve a Scanning Report card. Place XPM
if able (may only be placed on a Sector without enemies and XPM). If no XPM
placed, draw and add 2 new Sectors anywhere on the map. Each one must be
adjacent to at least two other Sectors. Place Raider tokens if able.

Phase 2: Upkeep (All Players)


Get back any used Activation tokens.
Spend 2 Astarium to increase the level of Starport and/or Research Lab by one.
Gain Units / Power Ups and/or tokens. If you reach a CC+ point, level up your
Command Centre and gain the reward. Increase all Armada stats by 1 (at max
Starport/Research Lab level).

Phase 3: Movement (All Players)


1. SECTOR MOVEMENT : You must pay the Movement Points of the adjacent
Sector you want to move to. If a Raider is present in your current Sector you must
pay an extra amount of Movement Points equal to the Raiders Level (Bosses:
Level 4).
2. EXPLORE : Move to an empty space adjacent to yours and add one Sector. The
new Sector cannot be placed at a distance greater than 3 from the Jumpgate and
must be adjacent to at least 2 existing Sectors. This costs 1 Movement Point and
you must immediately stop.
3. XPM : You may spend 1 Movement Point to pick up an XPM and add it to your
Cargo (holds a maximum of 1).

Phase 4: Encounter (All Players)


Perform one of the following:
1. Explore : Players who explored in the movement Phase must draw and resolve
an Exploration Card. If you are successful, gain rewards. Otherwise take 2 Hull
Damage and draw an Event.
2. Combat : Players who are in the same Sector with enemies may engage in
combat if they choose to. If more than 1 enemy, choose only 1 to engage. If you
win, gain rewards. Otherwise suffer penalties (See Hull Damage).
3. Regroup : Choose an action
(a) Draw one Common Action card
(b) Take one Exploration or Combat token
(c) Repair 4 Hull Points
(d) Exchange one of your Armada cards that has not been used this round with
another from your deck. Place one Activation token on it without activating
the cards ability. The card may not be used this Round unless an ability or
special card removes the Activation token.

Spend 3 Exploration and 3 Combat tokens to build a Starbase in your current


Sector. Other players in the same Sector may help you by offering their tokens.
The Sector is now Safe (No Raiders can spawn or move here).
If a Boss is present you may engage in a battle with it.
Pass the First player token to the next player.

Important rules
1. ACTION CARDS (After playing the card, discard it.)
Instant : Any time, any player.
Movement : Movement Phase only.
Upkeep : Upkeep Phase only.
2. ARMADA CARDS
If you want to place a new card and there is no room, replace a Unit or Power Up
already there.
3. COLLABORATION
You may :
Play an Action Card (at the appropriate time) to aid another player.
Spend Combat Tokens to remove an Event Card. May be in different Sectors.
You may not :
Exchange cards, tokens or Astarium with other players.
Attack a Raider or Bosses with other players.
Use Special Abilities of your Commander, Units or Power ups for another player.
4. ENEMY DAMAGE
When a battle with an enemy is over and it is still alive, it is restored back to full
health.
5. EVENTS
You can discard an Event any time (except for the Event Phase) by discarding two
Combat tokens. All players can contribute.
6. HULL DAMAGE
At any time in any phase, you can repair your Hull by spending 1 Astarium per Hull
Point. If you reach 0 points :
Armada returns to Jumpgate
Gain 8 Hull Points
Discard all Combat and Exploration Tokens, Astartium and XPM.
7. RAIDER SURGE
If 2 or more enemies occupy the same Sector :
If a Boss is present, remove Raiders.
If there is no Boss present, upgrade the highest level Raider by one level and
discard the rest.
Draw an event card. Limit one per round, even if more Raider Surges occur.
8. STARBASE
The Starbase provides the following benefits :
Makes its Sector safe (no Raiders can spawn or move here)
Roll an extra dice in its (and adjacent) Sector.
9. SUCCESSES
Unless otherwise stated, a Success is a roll of 4, 5 or 6.
