WORLD TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION 2015

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
S.Y. 2015 2016

I.

Introduction
Teaching is the one profession that creates all other
professions. This quote of an unknown person wants to
impart that teachers are the source of inspiration. They
encourage students to live better lives and become excellent
leaders in their chosen paths.

World Teachers' Day represents a significant effort to

raise awareness, understanding and appreciation for the
vital contribution that teachers make to education and
development across the globe.

In many countries, the quality of education is

undermined by a deficit of teachers. Added to the challenge
of numbers is one of quality: all too often, teachers work
without resources or proper training. The stakes are high,

because we face today a global learning crisis, with 250

million children not acquiring basic skills of reading and
writing. As countries accelerate towards 2015 and the new
development agenda is shaped, it is essential that teachers
remain a priority.

The Philippines began its celebration of the National

Teachers Month last September 5. It will run until October
5, which had been declared by the United Nations as World
Teachers Day.

This

annual

tradition

was

started

in

2011

as

mandated by President Benigno Aquino IIIs Proclamation

242. In connection to this, the Department of Education
has released Memorandum #99-2015 as a guide for school
divisions all over the country. DepEd is once more using the
theme, My Teacher, my Hero and the social media hashtag
#ThankYouTeacher.

With this, Bayog Elementary School took part and

prepared different activities and programs for the schoolbased celebration of World Teachers Day last October 5,
2015. Few meetings were made to make this event a
memorable one for our new generation of heroes, the
teachers. These kinds of experiences may affect ones life
and make us, teachers feel how important we are and how
our students and their parents really appreciate all our

efforts not just because of the presents given but because of

the magic word #ThankYouTeacher.

Teachers affect eternity; no one can tell where their

influence stops.

Highlights and Accomplishments

The school-based celebration had started with a fiveminute ringing of bell from 10:00-10:05 am in the morning.
The excitement of everyone went up because of the surprise
activities done during the teacher edition of Bayog ES
Amazing Race. But before all of this happened, teachers,
staff, with the principal, gathered together in the covered
court to recite the teachers prayer. One student from Grade
VI-Rizal, Sophia Mikalella Dizon had guided her co-students
in reciting the teachers prayer while teachers solemnly felt
the message of the prayer.

After the prayer, an opening remark was given by our

principal, Mrs. Maricar A. Afuang to give honor to all the
teachers who made the school a one of a kind. A school
where there were different talented and multifaceted
teachers with their hardworks in giving students a quality
education. The principal prayed that her teachers may be
guided with love and care for their pupils. Temperance or
self control during hard times with their pupils. She also
thanked

her

teachers

for

being

so

cooperative

that

manifested through good works. The remark was ended with

clapping of hands among the students, teachers, and staff.
A simple dance presentation was performed by Mrs. Marie
Paz L. Barnido.

The next activity was flying of white balloons as a

symbol of cooperation and participation of Bayog ES during
the said event. Everyone was shouting Happy Teachers
Day!

After the flying of balloons, pupils went back to their

room for some drawing activities and writing of thank you
letter for their teachers. While the pupils were doing their
activities, the teacher proceeded to the most awaited activity
of the event, the AMAZING RACE: Teacher Edition of Bayog
ES, headed by Mr. Reymart T. Ada and guided by the
principal, Mrs. Maricar A. Afuang. There were five stations
prepared and each station had a given task to finish before
they transferred to another station. In Station 1 named
Hipan Mo Bebe!, was facilitated by Ms. Hazel L. Sapin. In
this activity, the player should blow the ball from one cup to
another where the cup is filled of water. They have to blow
one ball from the 5 cups. In Station 2 named Halukay Ube!,
was facilitated by Ms. Jahlene V. Dequito. In this activity,
the players had to arrange the jumbled letters from the
container to complete the missing word in the DepEds
Mission and Vision. In Station 3 named Riddle/Brain Teaser
facilitated by Ms. Hazel B. Maligalig, the player should eat
pulvoron and read the riddle. After reading the riddle, the
one who was eating should answer the riddle with the help
of the team. Station 4 was named I-Bomba Mo Bebe by Mr.
Eladio I. Hernandez, Jr. In this activity, the player should
wear a box with the balls inside. The player should get the

black ball out of the box by shaking their hips. And the last
station tested their brains by a Matches Puzzle, facilitated
by Mr. Reymart T. Ada. There is a set of matches formed
into 4 squares x 4 squares. They had to remove 9 matches
leaving NO squares but 7 rectangles. The rectangles dont
have to be equal in size.

The Amazing Race winner was Group Two whose

members were Mrs. Teodora D. Gabrillo, Ms. Rochel L.
Deangkinay, Mrs. Jean Q. Tolentino and Mrs. Maricel D.
Tandang.

The School-Based World Teachers Day Celebration

was ended in a sumptuous lunch where all the teachers and
staff with the principal ate together and reminiscing the
activities done on that day. Everybody seemed tired but
enjoyed the activities and some were asking for more. This
years Teachers day Celebration is hashtag #SarapSaya and
hashtag #BusogLusog.
