These measurements are app due to
the varying gauge different machines.
Make tension swatch in pattern ten dial 8

THE HAT IS MADE IN AN OBLONG SHAPE

What makes the hat is the way it is put

together that is what creates the shape.
HAT
Using 4 ply yarn / 3 strands 2/30 ind
yarn.
Cast on 68 ndls on in W/Y knit several
rows st/st
Using main yarn cast with the
e-wrap method knit 2 rows.
R /c 000Set machine for tuck pattern and with
the Carr @ RHS Ten Dial 9
Knit in pattern until work measures
20-21-22) in 51-53.5-56)cm or until
required length knit 1 row ten 9 then
1 row ten 10.
Change to W/Y knit several rows, take
off machine.

Putting the Hat Together
Thread yarn through loose
stitches on W/Y at both ends of knitting
remove W/Y and draw in to gather the
ends, bring the 2 ends together then
thread yarn again through both ends
together for centre front of hat making a
circle and secure
See Diagram Below

TO SHAPE THE CROWN OF THE HAT

Sew running sts ( see diagram)along the
back seam draw in creating a a circle
on the crown part of about 6 inches in
diameter join the together to form a
seam this makes the shape of the crown.

Main Flower Pattern

Using main yarn e-wrap over 40 ndls
using ten 10 knit 1 row.
Set P/C No:4 and change to ten 8 knit 1
row.
R/C 000 Knit 12 rows in pattern take off
on W/Y.

Putting the Flower Together
Using a bodkin thread yarn through sts
on W/Y sew ends together remove W/Y
and draw into centre to form a circle join
ends together secure,
With RHS facing and beginning at the
seam edge using a 4.00 mm crochet
hook. Crochet evenly along the outside
edge in shell stitch e.g. sl, 1 crochet 3
tbs, into the next sp, sl 1, into the next
space working over app 3 sps continue
around the edge
finishing with a sl, st, tidy up any loose
ends leaving a long loose end for sewing
the bead into the centre of the flower and
for sewing the flower onto the hat.
