Evidence

Dressed appropriately as in no clothes that did not

contain any profanity or low cleavage.
I try to arrive 20 minutes before class start time so that
I am ready and prepared, such as opening documents
and reviewing the day. I also have been punctual for
the classes and with submissions.
I have been respectful all my classmates, guest
speakers, and instructors. I believe that everyone
should be respected and being in a professional course
how we interact with each other is important so I have
been consistent with my behaviour when meeting
someone new.
Overall we have only had one assignment due and I
understood the feedback provided and made the
necessary changes needed. Also reflected on what I did
wrong, reviewed the videos (for the lesson plan)
In group work I show initiative through positive
support, leadership roles, as well as taking part in the
group discussions. I also have been attempting to
answer questions during the tutorial section.

General respect for my classmates and instructors and

treating everyone the same. Not leaving other people
out during group discussions just because I do not
know them.
Everyone has their own beliefs and personal values,
but I come to class with an open mind ready to learn
something new. Being open and open to diverse
perspective of teaching does not mean I need to fully
agree or accept it but being respectful of the
information taught and hearing it out.
I reflect upon my assignment feedback as well as take
notes on what I learn in class so that I can use in
practicum as well as take in information on how to be
professional in the work field.
I have been completing required tasks but sometimes
some of the readings have not been completed nor have
I been keeping up with the helpful videos provided.
Overall I have been actively participating during the
different class activities. This includes the online
components for the tutorial section as well.

a. How have you demonstrated (or not) the criteria these past few weeks?
I have demonstrated the following criteria these past few weeks through actively listening in class, participation, and
completing the assignments on time.
b. In what areas do you feel you have excelled? Why? How might these areas be evident to others in the class?
Areas in which I feel that I excelled in was having an open mind. I find that being in the teaching profession, we will encounter
very diverse people and they all have VERY different perspectives and understandings. Being in Oshawa already is pretty new
to me as I was born and raised in Toronto, so being in a new city itself I needed to make sure to be respectful of other people
who may have grew up completely different from me. Another area I feel that I excel in is being prepared. In my other classes
as well I try to come in 20-30 minutes earlier so that I am prepared and ready to start the day mentally and physically. I also do
this for my 8A.M class, which I need to wake up around 5:30 to get to school.

c. What areas do you feel you require more improvement? Why? How might you improve upon these areas?
I feel that I need to improve on my readings. Not just for this class but I feel that as the weeks went on I stopped doing some of
the readings. These readings are beneficial and helpful to our learning experiences. I can improve on this through keeping up
on my daily readings.
2. Next, consider the rubric.
a. What overall level best reflects the criteria? Why? What evidence do you have to support your self-assessment?
I would say 3.5 would best reflect the criteria for me. There are some criteria which I am consistent with and demonstrates
professional competency. However in some areas I have just met the criteria or can do much better in. Through my interactions
with others and my reflections upon the materials I have learnt I felt that a 3.5 would be a fair level that reflects me.
b. What are your next steps?
Next steps for me is to review the course materials and watch videos which I have missed. I know I have missed a couple and
did not watch them because I was feeling lazy.
