Reading Partners mobilizes communities to provide students in under-resourced schools with the proven,
individualized reading support they need to read at grade level by fourth grade.

SUPPORTING MESSAGES
Why reading matters
Reading is the foundation for all future learning. The ability to read transforms lives and empowers
children and communities to reach their full potential.
Research shows that when students can read at grade level by fourth grade, they have a greater
opportunity to succeed in school and in life.
The urgency of the need
With fewer than one out of five of our nations students from low-income families reading at grade level,
were committed to leading the movement to ensure all children are equipped with the reading skills they
need to reach their full potential.
Our approach
Reading Partners community-driven model works. Rigorous research has proven that Reading Partners
significantly increases reading proficiency.
We partner with schools and communities to equip students with the individualized support and
foundational skills they need to read at grade level by fourth grade.

Community driven
We partner with schools, community partners, and local volunteers to multiply resources and impact for
our students.
By engaging community members as volunteers, we mobilize individuals to build meaningful relationships
with their student(s) and boost engagement in education and success of their community.
Proven
Gold standard research has proven that Reading Partners significantly increases reading proficiency.
The majority of younger students (K-2) gain the key foundational skills needed to read on grade-level.
Older students (3rd & 4th graders) on average more than double their rate of literacy learning moving
them closer to grade level.
Individualized
Our program is individualized to meet student needs.
We serve K-4 students whove been assessed as behind grade level in reading and then place them into
the curriculum and level thats right for them.
Ongoing assessments and one-on-one engagement with their tutors helps tailor and focus skill-building
and tutoring approach.

Reading Partners

MDRC - Reading Partners was the subject of gold standard research by an independent, nonpartisan policy firm
(MDRC) that confirms our impact.
Our program is delivered with fidelity.
Reading Partners has a statistically significant impact on reading proficiency, including reading
comprehension, fluency, and sight-word reading.
Annual student data
Our third and fourth grade students, on average, more than double their rate of literacy learning while
enrolled in the program.
Over 70 percent of younger students (K-2nd grade) will gain the key foundational skills needed to read on
grade level.

CALL TO ACTION
Adapt your call-to-action to your audience
