Taylor Lindsay

Dear Malcolm,
Im Taylor! I would like to start off by telling you that I am super excited to write this
paper. In fact, Im so excited that my hands are currently shaking. Im eighteen years old, and I
was born on February 15, 1998, the day after Valentines Day. My home is in Kernersville, North
Carolina. Most people arent familiar with that area so I just tell them I live in Winston Salem. I
live with my mom and Pomma-Poo named Pudgey. He is the most annoying dog in the world
and has outlived his life expectancy. A part of me still loves him. I have two step sisters that are
equivalent to Cinderellas step sisters and one more step sister that I actually like. Too bad she
left me for the Navy.

(These pictures might not help you identify me in class. I change my hairstyle frequently.)
I dont know how to describe myself because Im all over the place, but also very
organized. The various and well-trusted test I took in my AP Psychology class said I have Type A
Stress and Im an introvert. This may be true. I havent decided yet. I have several list in my
phone that keep me in order, and I organize everything in color coded order. Some days I will
avoid my friends entirely, finish a book in a day, and end the day watching a movie portrayed in
the 60s. Other days, I will spend two hours getting ready, drive out all my gas in my car, and
come back early in the morning. There is no in between. I really enjoy reading and art. I have
never disliked a book, I will read what is given to me, and if I fall in love with it, I will reread it.
Usually, if you catch me sketching it is because I am in a bad mood. I do take art classes for fun,
but Im stubborn when given a specific, detailed assignment. I spend most of my time contouring
my face with makeup brushes, hiking with my friends at hanging rock, and taking road trips with
my amazingly cute boyfriend.
From the age of two until eighth grade I went to First Assembly Christian School. I
decided I wanted to go to a public school and attended East Forsyth High School. I played sports,
joined clubs, volunteered, and was on the choir while balancing school. All of this made me who
I am today. I made straight As all throughout high school. Now, I have people telling me its
going to be more difficult to accomplish what I have before.
I believe them and Im willing to accept every piece of
advice that is given to me, but I will not listen to those who
tell me I wont be able to accomplish what I have in high
school, in college. I know it will be harder, but that wont
stop me from accomplishing what I always have.
As I said in the beginning, I am super excited and
cant wait to walk through the door of your classroom. Im

Taylor Lindsay
ready to take on anything you have planned and will give my best effort. I will even laugh at all
your corny jokes! I cant wait to meet you!
Truly Yours,
Taylor
