CAREER GOAL
As a recent Marine and Wildlife Biology Graduate from Griffith University I am
excited to start my career. I hope to be apart of an organisation or company
that strongly believes in saving our precious natural environment. I hope to
utilise my scientific skillset I have gained at University and through my
volunteer opportunities to be able to contribute greatly to educating people on
the importance of sustainable development and the importance of this for our
future.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

Technical Skills
Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Satisfactory knowledge of Arcview GIS and SPSS
Proficient report writing skills
Problem Solving and Critical Thinking
Designing numerous scientific research projects and conducting the
research and data collection as efficient as possible has intensified my
ability to problem solve.
The need to alter an experiment slightly once in the field due to
unforseen circumstances such as weather, lack of appropriate
equipment etc., has enabled me to increase by critical thinking skills
and allow me to make quick informed decisions.
Communication
Presentations, both group and individual have ensured my developed
of communication and public speaking skills
Scientific communication in the form of writing and speaking concisely
and informatively has enhanced my communication skills
Science Capstone
To conclude my Bachelor of Science degree, a final component involved
creating a group research project to do with Marine Biology. As can be seen
in the Research tab of this website, the project was conducted on Heron
Island and it involved observing parrotfish and their feeding preference on
coral morphologies in relation to depth. This project was conducted in a group
setting, and the skills involved in completing this study involved:
- Working in a group setting and being flexible to design
a project everyone agreed on and showed an interest
to
- Create a research plan of key components being
studied and presenting these ideas before conducting
research
- Assessment of possible risks, both minor and major
- Conduction of accurate survey methods in field and as
detailed as possible record keeping
- Analysis of data in SPSS, R and Excel
- Creation of scientific article discussing the final results
backed by previous research
- Presentation of scientific poster, PowerPoint and
elevator pitch summarising what we did.
