Business Traveller

Application in Delhi

For Business Travelers


Is applicable in case you are traveling on business / company work. This visa is given for travel of less than
90 days.
Visa fee: 60 euros
Mandatory Documents:
1.

Original passport valid for at least three months with minimum 2 blank pages (face to face),
+ 1 photocopy of passport first page The passport should be issued less than 10 years ago.

2.

The photocopy of Passport photo page and address page of the applicant.

3.

Photocopies of valid US,U.K. and previous Schengen visas.

4.

One application form with all columns filled in and 2 recent photographs in the size of 3.5 cms x 4.5
cms with white / light background.

All applicants should mention their mobile number on the visa application form.
Travel agents authorized by the embassy of france must mention the applicants mobile
number on the visa application form and not their own mobile number or travel agency number.

Covering letter from the COMPANY mentioning name and designation of the applicant and
that of the signatory of managerial or executive level giving brief sketch of applicant's itinerary, name,
address and email of the company to be visited

Copy of INVITATION LETTER from French company


Copy of income tax papers of last one year, last THREE month bank statement updated, last 3
months salary slips

Photocopy of OVERSEAS medical insurance policy + REPATRIATION, evacuation cover


(equivalent to 30,000 euros). Please carry your original insurance for verification at the time of
submission of visa application form. **

Copy of air ticket or PNR (booking printout).

Confirmed prepaid hotel reservation.

All applicants except first time traveler (traveling first time to a Schengen country) while applying
for a French visa will be required to fill visa insurance undertaking form in addition to the visa application
form.

12.

Domestic help at the private service of a foreign national or a French national, accompanying his
employer to France for a short stay needs to hold a working permit, like any foreigner going to work, full
time or part time, in France.

13.

Bank statement of company as well as the applicant for at least 6 months

14.

If employed salary certificate for 6 months.

15.

Income Tax return for at least 1 year


Submission of a contract established between the employee and the employer in accordance with the French
Labour law, approved by the DDTEFP( Direction du travail, de lemploiet de la formation professionnelle)
center of the employers place of vacation is compulsory for application for a visa.
The documents must be arranged in the order given above.
** Please note that original insurance will be seen by the submission officer at the time of submission of visa
application form. Online insurance should be certified by the insurance company. Also from 01 November
2007 onwards insurance should cover minimum 30 days even if an applicant stay duration in France is less
than 30 days.
Important!

Since July 2013, French authorities have decided to facilitate travel to France for all
Indian citizens who have studied in France. From then, all Indian citizens residing in
India who have graduated from a French higher education institution subsequently
applying for a tourist or business short stay visa for a trip to France, will be given a visa
with a long period of validity up to five years (subject to passport validity date) if the
studies in France were at the Master or PhD levels.

The French Embassy, New Delhi reserves the right to ask the applicant to produce original air ticket
and insurance if required.

Frequent flyers can apply for a one-year visa (longer validity) with an overseas medical insurance
policy of one year. The passport must be valid accordingly.

For applicants going on training, the host organization has to get a clearance from the DDTEFP
department of the French ministry in France and photocopy of the DDTEFP has to be attached with
the covering letter from the host.

All faxes must be photocopied and in A4 size paper.

Each application must be supported by a copy of the requisite documents. If you have received a
fax you must photocopy the same and attach it to your application.

No visa will be issued on additional pages.

Application in Mumbai
For Business Travelers
Is applicable in case you are traveling on business / company work. This visa is given for travel
of less than 90 days.
Mandatory Documents:
1.

Original passport valid for a minimum period of three months after the expiry date of the visa
(passports issued more than ten years ago are no longer accepted)* and 1 old passport if applicable plus
one copy of the first and last page of the current passport. The passport should have 2 blank pages

One application form with all columns filled in, 2 signatures and contact number is mandatory and 2
recent photographs not older than 6 months. The photograph must measure 35 mm in width by 45 mm in
length. The length of face must be 32 to 36 mm from bottom of chin to the top of the skull (Besides hair),
that is, the face coverage has to be 60-70 % of the photo.

Original covering letter from the company mentioning name and designation of the applicant and
that of the signatory of managerial or executive level giving brief sketch of applicant's itinerary, name and
address of the company to be visited.

Confirmed Hotel Reservation (Hotel booking should be for the whole stay in the Schengen)

Copy of Last 3 years personal IT Returns

7.

Copy of last 3 months personal bank statements (Updated)

Copy of last 3 months salary slips.

Copy of overseas medical insurance policy + repatriation, evacuation cover (equivalent to 30000

Important!

If you are a frequent traveller and wish to apply for a longer validity visa you can request for the
same in the covering letter. The decision to grant a longer validity visa remains with the French
Consulate.

A self-employed applicant to submit proof of business i.e. firms registration or partnership deed.

Copy of refusal letter in case of any previous refusals from any country

For applicants working more than 30 days upto 90 days, the host organization has to get a
clearance from the DDTEFP (Direction Departementale du Travail, de lEmploi et de la Formation
Professionnelle).

Each application must be supported by a copy of the requisite documents. If you have received a
fax you must photocopy the same and attach it to your application.

You may be asked to show your original documents at the time of your interview. Therefore please
carry your original documents with you.

All photocopies must be in black and white and on A4 size paper.

No visa will be issued on additional pages.

The applicants going to France for internship or training purpose or participating in workshops, a
document named convention de stage , validated by the French Authority (DIRECCTE) needs to be
provided.

Tourist Visit

Application in Delhi
For Non-Professional Travel (family visit, private visit, tourists)
Is applicable in case you are traveling to visit your friends/relatives. This visa is given for travel of less than
90 days.
Visa fee: 60 euros
Mandatory Documents:

1.

Original passport valid for at least three months with minimum 2 blank pages. (face to face)
The passport should be issued less than 10 years ago.

2.

Two photocopy of Passport photo page and address page of the applicant.

3.

Photocopies of all valid US, U.K. and previous Schengen visas.

4.

One application form & undertaking form with all columns filled in and 2 recent photographs in the
size of 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms with white/light background.

For minor travelling alone the visa application must include an authorization from both his/her
parents to travel alone. The authorization has to be certified by an entitled Indian/Nepalese authority and
enclose copy of the parents' identity.
If the minor is travelling with an adult other than his/her parents, this adult has to be legally authorized by
the minor's parents to accompany him/her and take any measure that be needed in case of illness,
accident,etc.
If the minor is accompanied by only one of his/her parents, the other one should give his/her legal
authorization to let her/his child travelling with his/her spouse.

For any student under 18, applicants are requested by the French authorities to provide with either
a photocopy of certificate from their school or university or any other document as a proof of their
enrollment as a student or apprentice.

14.

The photocopy of certificate from school or university or any other proof of professional or educative
occupation is also requested whenever a young person over 18 is depending on his parents for his/her living
expenses

Marriage certificate is mandatory for all the applicants who are married if their spouse name is not
endorsed in the passport. If someone is not having a marriage certificate (newly married couple) then an
affidavit declaring the applicants to be married with their photos pasted on the same should be produced.

All child within the age of 18years should provide a copy of birth certificate as a mandatory
document.

* Attestation d'accueil (sponsorship certificate) can be obtained in any city from the local town hall in
France.

invitation letter in original is compulsory if invited by friends or family member. Hotel booking should be for
the whole stay in the Schengen area

receipt by the travel agency if taking a tour

both parents in the form of an affidavit on a stamp paper.

Applicants going for honeymoon purpose need to submit a copy of their wedding card.
