III. Course Description:

This course makes use of the repertoire of mathematical knowledge and skills
students have developed over the years to deepen and further extend their
understanding of the subject. It intends to equip prospective mathematics teachers
with techniques on guiding their students to developed research-based investigatory
projects in mathematics. It also aims to change students impression of mathematics
as a toolkit and inculcate in them the view that mathematics is a dynamic and
growing body of knowledge and processes. The use graphing calculators and
computer algebra systems is highly encouraged.
IV. Course Objectives:
At end of the course, the student should be able to:
Cognitive (Knowledge):1. apply basic knowledge to solve problems in
mathematics.
2. formulate, solve and investigate problems in
mathematics.
Affective (Attitude): 1. become an effective future teachers in mathematics.
Psychomotor (Skills):1. formulate a mathematical model out of the given
problem.
