DESIGNER TEST PLAN REVISION 1

Objective
This document identifies the designer tests to be performed against the Microsoft Office
365 component of the Core PC SOE offering. Tests include not only those to ensure the
components quality for inclusion into the Core PC SOE offering, but to ensure that
customizations that may be carried out by Service Center Development also are able to
function correctly. For example, tests should validate that pre and post installation
actions can be triggered; or that an executable provided to brand the registry, does so.
This test plan serves as a record of all tests to be carried out against the component, and
its customization mechanisms, to ensure overall component quality. The component
provider should have successfully tested and passed all test cases prior to submittal of the
component for inclusion into the Core PC SOE.
Intended Audience
This document is intended for Core Component Providers, Service Center Development
team, Interoperability Verification team members and Quality Assurance.

Required Media
The source to test against for this component is located on the CCPV server. The
component is to be tested using two deployment methods:
As a part of W10PE SOE DSP.
As a standalone manual installation.
You will also require the French language binaries for Office 365. Due to the requirement
to control the size of the DSP and the optional nature of the Language Packs they have
been placed on CCPV server. Please refer to Appendix B for download details.
Reference documentation
Background material for this component can be found in the associated Component
Engineering Document and configuration settings within the associated Engineering
Acceptance Document.
Test cases
Preparation
Office 365 is tested for the following the scenarios:
1. The source to test against for this component is integrated with W10PE SOE DSP.
This is done by copying the binaries to \DSP\Tier2\APPS\Microsoft folder. The
Installr.ini is modified to add two menu items for Office 365 (32bit and 64bit).
Refer to Install procedure or instructions section in the associated Component
Engineering document for complete details.
2. The source to test can also be downloaded from FTP server to a local location, or
kept at a shared network location.

Installation
1. For preparation scenario 1, from the SOE Installer interface select Microsoft
Office 365 ProPlus - Core SOE Offering and execute the installation via the Run
Install button. It should be noted only one of the product (32bit or 64bit) can be
installed at one single time.
2. For preparation scenario 2, follow the following steps:
a. Open a command prompt with administrator privileges.
b. Browse to the location where the binaries are located.
c. Execute ManualSetup.bat file
Office 365 can co-exist with Office 2013 installations. Thus, the component is tested in
the following three configurations:
1. Only Office 365 exists on the machine.
2. Office 365 is installed on a machine with an existing Office 2013 installation
The test cases below, address all the above three configurations and the test results for all
three configurations are provided, respectively.
Note the Start Menu Icons that have been created as shown.

Note: This test is for Office 365 only scenario. This test requires an active internet
connection.
If the S: drive is mapped, disconnect it (this is the initial install point). This will
ensure the original source is not available.
Delete a file from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15
directory, such as excel.exe
From the control panel choose Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus from list and click
on Change. The Repair window will open (as shown below). Select Online
Repair and click on continue. Upon completion, the deleted file will be restored.
This would usually take around 15 minutes to complete.

If on a Windows 10 machine a version of Office 365 (assuming English) has already been
installed, please follow the steps below to install French Language pack.
In this example Office 365 ProPlus has already been installed in English.
1. Confirm only one language is installed by Opening
Start Menu All apps Microsoft Office 2013 Microsoft Office 2013
Language Preferences. Note that only English language is installed and it is set as
default language. It is also enabled.
2. Use instructions from the Component Engineering Document (It can be found at
Additions made to XML for multiple language section within the Component
Engineering Document) to configure the Configuration.xml to install French and
English. The XML file is located at
\DSP\Tier2\APPS\MICROSOFT\OFFICE365\bin32. Open the XML file
using notepad.
The entry will look like this. (Case sensitive)

2. Download, extract and copy the language pack for French to the
\DSP\Tier2\APPS\MICROSOFT\OFFICE365(32)\bin32\bin folder. When
copying select no when prompted to overwrite folders and files. Refer to the
Component Engineering document for details.
3. Create the build with Office 365 ProPlus (or alternatively you may uninstall
Office and run the installr.exe again after editing the configuration.xml).
4. Upon completion of the build\reinstall ensure that the Microsoft Office User
Interface (UI) has been installed in the language which was written first in the
configuration.xml (English in the following example).
<Language ID=en-en />
<Language ID="fr-fr" />
The easiest way to check the shell transform is to check names of the Microsoft
Office 2013 Tools under Microsoft 2013 Apps, as they are always displayed in
the language of the installed User Interface.

Now, change the order of the languages within the configuration.xml file.
<Language ID="fr-fr" />
<Language ID=en-en />
Reinstall Office (assuming you would have uninstalled the previous version of
Office 2013 on your machine).
The above highlighted menu items will now be displayed in French.
5. Confirm that both languages have been installed. Open the Microsoft Office
Tools, as above and click on Microsoft Office 2013 Language Preferences.
From the circled drop down box you should be able to choose English or French.
