This action research was conducted to strengthen the mastery of the usage of

conjunctions ialah and adalah among the year 4 students. The participants
involved in the research amount to eight students of year 4 from Sekolah
Kebangsaan Tropicana, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The research was done based on
the Kurt Lewin (1946) and Laidlaw (1992) model of action research. The
instrument used were pre- and post-test, interview and questionnaire. The
results of early review showed that students were unable to use the conjunctions
within the right context. This research involved the using of rumus is KN & as
KAKS through language game technique to strengthen the mastery and
comprehension of students toward the usage of conjunctions ialah and
adalah on the right and grammatical context when building sentences. This
research was conducted for a period of 4 weeks. Research showed that students
improved positively in mastering the skill. Analysis of post-test showed 88% of
students had obtained excellent result while 12% were satisfactory. The
achievement is different from the pre-test which is a total of 25% students were
of unsatisfactory result while 75% of the students were of poor result. The
analysis of the two data could be confirmed through the instrument interview
and questionnaire conducted. The result of the action research showed that the
usage of rumus is KN & as KAKS through language game technique can
helped to increase the mastery and comprehensive ability of students in the
usage of conjunctions ialah and adalah based on the right context in building
grammatical sentences.
