Letter For Newly admitted Students

Dear Students,
Welcome to International Islamic University Islamabad
Congratulations to all of you for getting admission in this university. You are going to
start a new and exciting stage of your life that will bring a lot learning opportunities for you. The
purpose of writing this letter is to give you guidelines that will help you during your duration of
study in this university. Students enter in university life with a lot of dreams and expectations
without considering reality of university life. Well university life is not as charming as it seems
to be. Most of students come in university with the mindset that university is just a place of fun
and enjoyment, all the study we have completed in school and college. But no! in university life
you have to study even more than you do in your school or college life. Starting the university
life mean that you are taking responsibility of your own study. Unlike college life, you will be
responsible for balancing your time for your studies and completing your assignments.
Maintain good behavior with their teachers, co-students and faculty members also. As it
is Islamic university so try to maintain good dress code in university. Moreover studying in
semester system is quite different from annual system, students from college come with habit of
studying one month prior to exams. But here in semester system you have to study from the start
because your each assignment, quiz, presentation and midterm exam is the part of final marks.
The best way to score good marks in university is to study on daily basis, try to do your
assignments on your own and prepare your quizzes well.
It is necessary to maintain your CGPA in university, it is necessary for you to know that
grade in every course matters a lot in your overall CGPA, so unlike annual system in semester
system you have to study all courses with same effort level. Maintain your attendance up to 75%
in each course because if attendance is lower than 75% then university authority doesnt allow
sitting in final exams.
You can get help in your assignments from central library that is available in university.
Here a lot of books are available moreover online books are also available to get help in your
regular studies and assignments too. Make sure that library card is available to avail this facility.

Good and bad people are everywhere so before making friendships in university, makes sure
about the other person first. Dont get indulged in illegal activities in university and being a
responsible student if you see any illegal activity, inform the authority.
