The Fourth Reflection

This fourth reflection is about my fourth lesson I taught. It was my first time
to teach a science topic and the first time to teach in front my science MST.
my science MST was the hardest among all my MSTs. She loves details so, I
must work harder to pleasant her. This lesson was about the animals
habitats. I planned to this lesson based on the types of animals they will take
during this week and in this lesson. I mentioned six animals and their homes.
They were, dog, lion, rabbit, horse, cow and bird. I decided to teach this
lesson in shape of basic story with including and connecting the previous
knowledge and lesson. Which was the animals babies. I taught this lesson to
M section and it was the second time in teaching them.
At the beginning of the lesson, I illustrated myself to the pupils. Even though,
the pupils saw me in the math subject, I should do that because children
always forgot. Once again, I illustrated my rules. We sang the good morning
song and I started to engaging them with a visual story. during the events of
the story, the learners were able to explore also learn new information about
animals habitats. Addition, they could think and review the previous lesson.
My MST liked the idea of reviewing them in the same step of exploring. Next,
I demonstrated the main activity. Where children have the animals habitats
and animals in big envelope. The children were taking one animal of the
envelope, display it to their peers and indicate or put it in the correct home.
After that, I asked the children to set in their groups. I distributed and
explained the collaborative activities for each group. The children did not
start until I say start. The first group who is finished, I gave them stickers in
their hands. Once everyone finished, we exchange the activities among the
teams. I was able to finish on the time and my MST were very happy of my
performance. She said I am professional in managing and teaching. The class
room management, teaching, time and the other concepts were very good
and were strength points. Whereas, the size of the activities, the activities,
my voice and reward system need more improvements. Also, according to
my science MST, the activities were uneven among all the levels, which
means I need to change and get higher level activity for the medium level
pupils. It is need more challengeable for instance, creating games were the
medium pupils are able to hear and match the names of the homes with the
animals. Through that, the pupils are able to do the activity and learn,
connect the aural name with its formal look.
To sum up, this lesson was the best. My MST liked so much, but it still carries
some shortage to be better.
