RATIONALE FOR ASSESSMENTS

Students took the pre-test the day

before the unit began. Students took
the same test the final day of the unit.
By having 5 multiple-choice questions
on factors and multiples, filling in the
blank on prime or composite, and
listing answers for multiples, I was able
to gather data on what types of
questioning worked better for each
individual student. If a student was
struggling below the mastery level
throughout the week, I worked with
them in a small group during our Tier II
math time.
By using various ways of informal
formative assessment that included
multiple ways of questioning, I was able
to evaluate the students performance
on different levels. Individual and group
work were both involved to make sure
all students needs were met.
