techniques learnt in class.

Design Folio
/15marks
There will be some class time provided for you to complete your portfolio however, you will need to
manage you class time well and spend some time outside of class to complete your portfolio.
Your folio must contain the following components:
1.

Title page (your title page must contain the following) (1 mark)
Border
Title Year 9 Industrial Technology Timber
Student name & Date of completion
Use of colour/Suitable and relevant graphics
Design consideration use of space, originally, aesthetic appeal

2. Design Brief & Constraints (2 marks)

This is a short, concise statement indicating what is required to be designed and made.
Expected criteria should be mentioned and any constraints indicated
3. Research (3 marks)
Safety measures that have to be taken when completing the assessment task. (Identify,
explain and outline when they are in use).

4. Ideas, sketches and workshop drawings (3 marks)

Using the internet collect 3 existing timber vehicle designs, indicate positive and negative
options of design.
Produce at least 3 freehand sketches of possible vehicle designs. Use annotations to explain
the finer details of your designs.
Produce a final free hand sketch of the vehicle design you have made. This sketch should
include additional detail.
5. Steps in construction (3 marks)
Use Microsoft word to document the construction procedure, listing the sequence of
construction and explaining how you made your vehicle.
Use point form, and include technical terms.
Use Graphics/photos to assist explanations.
