Executive Summary
E-Business organizations of Bangladesh is one of the most rapidly growth sectors now a days. At
the beginning, E-Business organizations were mostly foreign companies but with new business
sectors are increasing, the local E-business organization has also arrived. GadgetGang7 is an
online based electronic products selling shop and we have selected this organization to get
practical example of e-business in the real world. Hence, the purpose of writing this report is to
analysis and discuss about the e-business revenue model, e-business infrastructure, digital
strategy and e-business security of GadgetGang7 and making stimulation of the organization to
show how it deals with daily operations and transactions. It has been assumed that the
information that we have come up with for the content will help people to get proper idea about
e-business and also influence them to run an e-business on their own. Again it will help to
understand if there is any problem regarding the business plan of any e-business and how to get
rid of the problem and also help the sector to grow in a massive way. Despite of having limited
information, we can assured that this report has covered almost every requirements that are need
to get proper idea about the project.

1.0 Introduction
GadgetGang7 is the first Tablet PC Company of Bangladeshi brand. We are present in all the
mobile phone markets in Dhaka and other major district. E-business in Gadget Gang 7 we
Describe the context and e-business mission/vision, Range of service and key business
focus, Define and describe e-business model, Drivers of e- business adoption in organization
and Management of e- business in organization. We also talk about the E-business revenue
model. In that part we Describe the value proposition of the e-business model, the revenue
model of the organization and Online marketplace structure. In E-business application
service, IT use for e-business application, the web technology and software applications are
the most important part of E-business platform/ infrastructure. They also have Digital
strategy for e-business and they focus on e-channel structure and Analyze e-business strategy.
And the last thing is E-business Security in that part we talked about the IT risk and how we
can prevent or manage those risks.

2.1 Describe the context and e-business mission/vision:
GadgetGang7 is a company with facility of Gadgets and Technology. It is provide their
latest Gadget of their own brand and smartphone many famous Chinese brand like Xiaomi,
OnePlus etc. They offer with Gadgets and Technology facility of the town at affordable price.

Right now they have 100+ product lines including Tablet PC, Smartphone, Headphone,
Power Bank, Bluetooth Speaker, Smart Gadgets, WiFi Router and many more.
Main focus of GadgetGang7 is to be the reliable source of existing Gadget and introducing
low price high quality Table pc in our country.

2.3 Define and describe e-business model


E-business is the conduct of business processes on the Internet. These electronic business
processes include buying and selling products, supplies and services from the supplier, servicing
their customers, processing all kind of payments, managing production control, collaborating

with business partners, sharing information to the customer in the online, running automated
employee services, recruiting, and more.
Every business follow their own e-Business model. GadgetGang7 follow B2C (BusinessTo-Consumer) model. They directly contact with customer by internet. In B2C customer
shopping on the web. And GG7 do their Business by physically and internet. So customer get
their available product so easily and they order their product in any area of Bangladesh. They are
transactional and GG7 relation build with their customer.
So E-business allows companies to conduct business 24 by 7, all day everyday. It is easy to
serve their product and e-business model help to connect with the customer and reach the
customer in easy way.

2.4 Drivers of e- business adoption in organization


Adoption is the process during which an enterprise becomes capable of transacting
electronically. Drivers of e-business adoption in organization is

way time has been deduct. they order their product at their home so they safe their time.

take care of the online payment for GadgetGang7. Though the market place is online there is a
physical outlet in Jamuna Future Park.

4.0 E-business platform/ infrastructure


It is mainly the discussion on overall infrastructure of GadgetGang7 and how they are
maintaining the E-business platform for their company in order to run business. All of these are
described below.
4.1 E-business application service
GadgetGang7 has maintained their E-business application services up to some decent level
where they can easily do their daily operations and also put some strong influence in their
management decision making process.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software basically helps an organization to collect
information, store data and use those to make any business strategies in the future for further
process, but GadgetGang7 does not use any ERP based software in their operation and collect
and store data in the traditional way as like any non e-business based organization would have
done or been doing in our country.
Again, if we consider about Customer Relationship Management (CRM) of the GadgetGang7,
then the first thing that we need to know is that the customers need to open an account before
purchasing in the website, and from there the GadgetGang7 team gets the basic information of
customers and analyze customer interactions.
Whenever a new offer or product comes, they notify their customer through e-mail and also by
sending text in their customers' contact number. GadgetGang7 has their relationship management
team whom are continuously working to make new ways to increase their customer size and
synchronize their sales by improving their customer relationship management.
GadgetGang7 has a well defined Supply Chain Management (SCM) of their own by which
their final product reach to the customers. There are many renowned companies which are part of
their supply chain management like Oneplus, BKash, Beximco, Airtel, Robi, RFL and Brac
Bank. Those organizations are continuously helping the GadgetGang7 to reach their desired
market size and operate their business properly around the country.

There is basically no step is taken for Data Mining by GadgetGang7 for now as their customer
size is very limited and quite fragmented. Though they are working on that but their priority is to
increase their customers number and redevelop their business model if necessary and after doing
so when their customer size would reach a decent figure, they will work for the data mining part
for their organization.

4.2 IT use for e-business application and its specific function.


GadgetGang7 is a website based electronic store so it is obvious they have Information
Technology department to run their e-business functions. If we considered on Intranet of the
organization, then it is intranet by which the employees share information, operational systems
and other services inside the organization. All of their employees have own username and
password by which they get access to their organization intranet system by using the internet
protocol technology and perform their job in an efficient way.
GadgetGang7 does not have any extranet network for their associated partners and suppliers for
now. But they have plans to make a private network for them in a very short time once the
business gets properly set and the desired level of customer size gets exceeded.
As a website based store business, GadgetGang7 is always dependent on Internet without a
shadow of a doubt. Internet is needed not only to sell the products but also for getting
information of the buying behavior of their customers. GadgetGang7 gets order via internet and
they also have online payment system as well. So, no transaction would have been possible
without internet when it comes to selling products for GadgetGang7.
When it comes to Electronic Data Interchange(EDI), GadgetGang7 has not been introduced to
these technology yet, but by the passage of time and with the increase size of the clients perhaps
the company have some plans in their mind which was not disclosed to us while we had taken
the interview.

4.3 Describe the web technology and software applications


GadgetGang7 is using web 2.0, the current stage of online technology, as it has greater
collaboration among internet users, content provider and enterprises. When the contents are
posted by the website, the user are enable to community based input, content sharing and
collaboration. The practice of expanding the business and webpage by the help of social media
like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube is also consider as an element of web2.0 technology.
GadgetGang7 is enabled to reach large number of participants and their collective resources and
also make user generated content by the assist of web 2.0.
GadgetGang7 also has a blog, inside their blog in their webpage where it is described that how to
get membership card which helps the customer to get discount and enrollment gift pack based on
the membership criteria. Again it is explained why customers should buy their products and what
are the upcoming offers are going to be. There are also videos added about their latest public
relationship event programme that had occurred.
There is no feedback section in their website. However, the customers mostly review or give
feedback in their Facebook webpage. GadgetGang7 should have their own web feed in their own
website. If they had their own web feed, then the customer could have directly interact with them
and also get all sorts of information in the same webpage. It would have made their customer
community stronger; at the same time the customers could get more reliable and genuine
information about the products.

4.4 Web content management strategy for updating data and content, speed and
responsiveness.
It takes less than a minute to decide that whether someone is interested to visit your website to
purchase a product. A well managed website is always preferable by the customers whenever
they are intended to buy any products. GadgatGang7 has improved their website contents over
the past years. But still the website is pretty slow when it comes to updating content and speed to
get one content to another. Some of the web content management strategies are explained below
which helped them to get more speed and responsiveness to updated data and content:

Keeping it Simple: GadgetGang7 has used simple language in their website as it had
helped the visitors to understand what the website is about and how it is going to help
him/her to buy a preferable product. They did not put any content which is not easy to
understand at a glance or which need to be described later.

Making it Colorful: Though the webpage color is based on the brand logo and brand
image of Gadgetgang7 but they use bright colors in the content or at least the content are
readable with their selected color as much as possible.

Keeping it Credible: GadgetGang7 provides genuine information about the product


and update the new features in the same time. Again, the terms of conditions are being
properly mentioned in their website. And if there is any return policy or warranty factors
of their products that is also being cleared in the content as well. This way their website
became more credible than their competitors.

Content Mapping: Gadgetgang7 used content mapping which saved their time and
efforts to set goals and types of content they offered in the website. Though it lacks
creativity for a website design but all the contents will be arranged in a good manner.

Manage the Process by Breaking into Steps: GadgetGang7 managed the whole web
content process into steps and they had done the steps one by one like research overview,
analysis, design and strategy and maintenance. And by following the steps the updating
data became much more easier than before.

Try a Creative Approach: GadgetGang7 is continuously trying to bring some new


approaches to get more speed and responsiveness. But they did not plan to do anything
for now. Though we can assumed that they can make online based game or avatar to get
higher number of visitors in their website.

5.0 Digital strategy for e-business


5.1 Describe the e-business strategy and describe how it supports its corporate strategy

E-business strategy define the approach by which applications of internal and external electronic
communications can support and influence corporate strategy.
Through the company objective, constraints and opportunities, the e-business strategy of
GadgetGang7 supports its corporate strategy. A brief note on each of the mentioned elements is
stated below.
The objective is to provide customers online shopping experience with a scope to buy gadgets at
prices lower than the rates quoted in showrooms. They aim to build a platform to reduce the
number of hands in the supply chain by selling producers goods directly to consumers. This
supports one of the corporate strategies: Distribution Flexibility.
Opportunities like online platform which is saving their operational cost, increased use of
internet-enabled mobile phones, proper use of social media and internet marketing, rising
demands of consumers with the stated fact of huge traffic on the website every day, availability
in all the mobile phone markets in Bangladesh support another corporate strategy: Corporate
Growth.
To ensure optimum after sales service for customers, it has launched a dedicated department
named Smart Phone Clinic with a large service team. Through this way of support and
maintenance, their e-business strategy is supporting: Shareholder Values
There are constraints as well like stock out problem during discount period, payments problem
like most of the consumers do not want to pay in advance in fear of fraud.
5.2 Describe e-channel structure (multinational, click, bricks-&-mortar, etc.)
The structure is "Click-and-mortar", i.e. the business combine a website with a physical store,
they have the additional advantages that they (usually) already have an established brand name,
and that they can use their physical store to promote the website.
The website provides with product information and an online ordering mechanism. Users select
the products they want to buy and place an order. The product price can be fixed or negotiable.
They make the money the same way as traditional "brick-and-mortar" shops: through the profit

margin in the product price. Further, users can turn unwanted or defective products simply by
going to the store, rather than mailing it to a web site operator.
They are offering Corporate and Bulk Sales too through this structure. Currently they are
working with 50+ corporate giants like BATB, Nestle, Airtel, Robi, Marico, ACI and many more.
They have a strong corporate sales team with assigned key accounts to ensure smooth delivery of
their products and services. They also maintain a very strong corporate relation with their key
accounts through prompt reply to any of their queries.

to those competitive threats.

Customers of Gadget Gang 7 cannot exert their bargaining power as they tend to do in
other physical stores.
In response to this problem, they have already introduced membership benefits, where

customers will be able to enjoy discount on purchased and also on pre-booked gadgets.
They do not offer space of advertisement for other websites, whereas most of the
websites are offering advertisement opportunity.
In response to this problem, they should offer advertising opportunity, which would bring

them additional money to fuel up their business

6.1 Mention and briefly describe five IT security risks which can negatively impact the ebusiness.
i.

Denial of Service (DoS) attacks: The intentional degradation or blocking of computer or


network resources that render services unavailable

ii.

Elevation of privilege: Use some means or the use of weaknesses in the system; get
permission to access the target system. Such as guessing passwords, set aside the back
door. It is caused for instance by violation of permissions threats.

iii.

Theft of service: The unauthorized use of computer or network services without


degrading the service to other users. It can result from: theft of functionality, theft of data,
software or/ and hardware misuse, data misuse

iv.

Disclosure of Information: The dissemination of information to anyone who is not


authorized to access that information. These threat actions can cause unauthorized
disclosure: Exposure, interception, inference, intrusion.

v.

Corruption of Information: Any unauthorized alteration of files stored on a host computer


or data in transit across a network. It is also called as tampering of information that is the

objectives by now and many more to come in the near future. The report gave an overall thought
