CORNING-PAINTED POST PERSONAL PROJECT

Personal Project Proposal

Noah Hursh
Pierce
Project Topic/Title:
What are the attitudes of people in our community towards non-Christian
(Muslim, Atheist, Buddhist, Hindu, etc.) people?

What Global Contexts are you exploring in this project?

I am exploring global contexts of personal and cultural expression and identities and
relationships. I will be exploring how people react to the personal and cultural expression of
others, but mainly I will be focusing on identities and relationships in how people relate to
different identities and how strong or weak the relationship is.
How are you incorporating Principled Action into the project?
I can use the results to see what groups of people are viewed very unfavorably or
unfavorably and use that information to help raise awareness/advocate for/help acquaint
people with members of different religions to reduce hostility in the community.
Outcome: What do you expect your final product to be?
I expect my final product to be statistics on the attitudes towards non-Christian people and a
summary of the reactions from the social experiment about attitudes towards people of
minority religions, as well as video if possible.
How will you check your outcome? How will you determine if your project is successful?
I will determine if my project is successful by making sure I have several trials of data and/or
reactions, without large changes in factors that could disrupt this data. I will also make sure
there are not too many outliers, variables, or major changes in data that cannot be
explained.
