Credit hours: 3 Pre-requisite: None Course Description This course covers the facts and concepts in human physiology intended for application to the public health practice. The major goal is to allow the health officer students to increase knowledge base and build upon their professional skills through understanding the relationship of the human body structures the mechanisms and control of the body function in health as well as pathological states. Course objectives:At the end of the course the student should be able Identify the physiological functions of the body and factors which may disturb and mechanisms of such disturbances. Apply physiological principles in the practice of medicine. Course content 1. Unit I Cell physiology 2.
