Heat Exchange
This module has been overhauled to include the following:
Baffles
This component has been completely changed to allow the following:
- Different cut lengths for each baffle depending on the length of the line
defining the pipe. Baffles are not instances anymore.
- The default for baffle creation is that the pipe diameter is modified
according to the baffle size (by default) including all the parts through which
the baffle passes.
- Addition of bubblers (spiral cores single and double thread).
Interface
The Property Manager for the Heat Exchange has been compressed so that
it will fit better onto one screen than before.
General changes include the addition of a show/hide pipe icon on the Cycle
Pipes section
for the current pipe. (This is especially useful
when displaying baffles which are hidden by the pipe)
There is a new icon on the pipe diameter parameter
which causes the
pipe diameter to propagate along the current segment through different parts
(default if the component is a baffle). This is especially useful for segments
whose pipe diameters are dictated by components i.e. baffles which cross
through different parts.
The Baffle dialogue has been modified to allow trim to the sketch line
(default) which shows the actual baffle length and is added to the baffle
properties as Cut Length.
Catalogues
The structure of the heat exchange (cooling) catalogues has been slightly
modified facilitating adding new catalogues to the library without software
development. This means that new catalogues can be added without
releasing a new software version. This is for internal use, however, any
request from a customer for new heat exchange (cooling) component
libraries can be implemented without waiting for a new version. As an
example of this we have added Pedrotti O-rings and RPL connectors for
the Staubli catalogue per customers requests.
Edit Cycle
During the Edit Cycle you can add components to a pipe which has no
components, whereas before you could only do this to a pipe which already
had at least one component.
Catalogues
New Catalogue
- Fodesco is a mm catalogue which has been added to our library of
catalogues. In MoldWorks 2016 a specific license for it has to be requested
for any customer with all the mm catalogues.

PCS catalogue fixed Leader Pins GL data errors.
Performance
We have increased the display performance for the different plate
configurations under the Plates folder by nearly tenfold depending on the
assembly size.
Corrections
- Lifters crash due to dialogue error has been fixed.
- Screw rule pertaining to length of screw thread did not take into account hole
offset causing thread on the screw shorter than final penetration depth
message to be erroneously displayed.
- If the default template has a SOLIDWORKS material definition (SW-Material)
for the Material parameter than we will not overwrite it with the Material
definition from the catalogue.
- Problem with dialogue sometimes being overwritten by SOLIDWORKS
FeatureManager tree.
- Dimensions of inserts were not updating after modification (when mold is
saved).
- Fixed a problem with the MoldWorks dialogue corruption.
- Tools used in the mold i.e. Trim ejector tool, User Component tools, Slide
tools, Lifter tools, Runner & Gates tools, Insert Cutting tools etc. are now all
excluded from the BOM.
- Correction to the H7 for ejectors.
- Ejectors can be defined with positioning points under multiple inserts.
