The students will complete a work sheet cutting and

pasting which animal goes with the given food. Once
the students have completed their work they will turn
the sheet into the teacher to review.
Later in the week, the students can be given just the

Lesson
Procedure

PreAssessment of Students
Have a discussion regarding where the students think
our food comes from. Allow the students to talk amongst
themselves before we talk as a group.
Modeling of the Concept
To start off, discuss with the students where they believe
our food comes from.
Then, create a list on the board of the animals and crops
that the students know are found on a farm.
Prior to beginning the activity, view the YouTube video
provided (video 1) without music so that they can see
the process of making hay.
Also, for a second example show the second YouTube
video regarding the process of sheeps for their wool.
Give an example of one animal and one crop that is not
on the worksheet after the discussion and before they
begin their worksheet.
Provide the students with the From Farm to Table
worksheet, scissors, glue, and crayons.
Once the students are finished with their worksheet,
they are to turn it into the teacher to be reviewed.
Guiding the Practice
Walk around while the students are completing the
assignment incase they would have questions. Allow the
examples from discussion to remain on the board while
they work. Once the students have finished they may
color the pictures if there is time remaining and then
turn their work into the teacher.
Providing the Independent Practice
The students will be working independently through this
activity.
Transition
Read Farmer Brown Sheers his Sheep by Tori Sloat and
Foods from Farms by Acorn while the students are
working.
