time the relatively low price for a high quality product. Therefore, it is very easy to fall
across the fake when buying this brand watches, especially on the Internet. Primarily,

of them so well that often even experienced expert cannot distinguish fake from the

level in the market that just all parts are identical to the original, including Japanese
quartz mechanisms, which are often used in most models of watches of this brand. So,

SERIAL NUMBER
First of all, original watches have the
serial number on the back lid. It consists of

More information about the serial
number: this number is not individual for
each watch. This is the number of series,
or lot number. And under the same
number the hundreds and thousands of watches of one model can be produced. It can
also be the same on different models, it is normal. Also the serial number of 6 digits
should be located on the clasp on the strap or bracelet, it may not be the same as the
number on the back lid, but it should be mandatory(see photo). If one of the numbers is
missing, the watch is fake.
2 YEAR WARRANTY
Term of the ofcial warranty for all
Emporio Armani watches is 2 years, no
more and no less. It is exactly 2 years.
Many sellers offer their own warranty, or
do not offer it at all - it should immediately
get your attention because the warranty
may be only ofcial and international,
what means that you can repair your
watch at every single EA service centre worldwide. Some online stores or sellers on
eBay assure potential buyers that they provide their own warranty for a specic period,
lets say 90 or 12 months, and explaining that this is the reason that their prices are
supposedly much lower. This is fraud and tricks for trustful buyers. Also sellers can
assure you that they are selling goods with ofcial warranty, but it requires at least
following few conditions.
The watch should be supplied with a warranty book, which should be properly lled
up and following information should be added:
1) The date of sale, starting from which the warranty is valid
2) Watch model (for example AR1400)
3) Serial number of the watch (six digit serial number at the back lid)
4) Seller's name or logo
Please note: watch should be supplied with one warranty/instruction book. Some fakes

selling watches with two books. One of them is thick, and one of them is thin.
Along with the warranty book the seller should provide you with a certicate of
authenticity. For more details see the next section.
CERTIFICATE
Certicate of authenticity:
This is the most neglected thing. And as
the practice shows - in vain. Certicate of
authenticity can immediately identify
fake. The thing is that such certicate has
several levels of protection and it is almost
impossible to be falsied, as it is produced
in Italy, on special order of Emporio
Armani. Most people who consider themselves as experts, in fact, only supercially
know how it actually looks like, or do not know it at all, considering that it's just an
ordinary piece of paper. The manufacturers of counterfeit also do not particularly pay
attention to that and do not really try to make a copy close to the original. So, how
should the original look like (see pictures)

The front side has interchangeable rows with the same text, one line with normal font
and other with special pattern as if with the encrypted inscription. At the same time
the lines with normal font are interchanging, the text is printed in its usual form once,
the next by inverted text (see photos above 1 and 2)
The reverse side of the certicate has a higher level of protection and contains the same
Giorgio Armani writings, but the letters are bold, and have a special texture. (see photo
3 and 4)
Upon further study, on the front side of the certicate you should nd embossed
writings with the name of Giorgio Armani brand

In this section I will tell you how to spot fake AR1400/AR1410 watches. It's easy if you
know what genuine watch looks like.
1) BACK LID
The genuine watch have small Emporio Armani logo eagle at back lid. All writings
made with small letters. Fakes often (but not always) have larger logos and larger
writings. First three digits in serial number always 111..., for example 111204, 111205,
111206 etc. As you can see from pictures below fake back lid have larger letters and a bit
larger logo.

Genuine clasp have a bit different type of
mechanism. In most fakes used standart
Emporio Armani clasp. Please see pictures.

THE WEIGHT
Very important thing you have to know
that genuine watch is 180g heavy. Most
fakes are 160-175g.

iv just bought one from goldsmiths in lakeside shopping centre and it weighs 150g and I didn't get a cert of authenticity ? although
I did get my book stamped
