Main drivers are responsible in the uptrend or downtrend of a

specific scenario. Factors such as population growth,

infrastructure development, agricultural expansion, economic
changes, political and institutional environment are considered as
some of the main drivers in international construction. Each
content has a specific contribution and role in the international
construction.
Sustainability is important in todays situation. We all know that
population growth is unstoppable. Based from my own
understanding, sustainable development is an advancement or
development which meets the needs of the people today without
sacrificing the potential progress of the future generations. One
factor that is attached to the sustainable development is the
preservation or maintenance of the environment which is a big
challenge globally. As the population growth rapidly increases, the
needs of the people is also rapidly changing. The possible effect
of sustainable development and construction in the global
economy are associated to construction industry stipulation,
necessity, and drivers and to the embracement of sustainability
concepts. The impacts of the sustainable development will vary
from one country to another.
In the Philippines, there is a Philippine Strategy for Sustainable
Development which is aimed to provide a framework to the
initiatives of various groups in Philippine society to integrate
environmental considerations into economic decision making to
ensure sustainable development. This means that our country is
also committed in sustainable development. Everything that
happens in other nations has an effect in the global economy.
