Casting Blinding Concrete at tower-C

Section A: - Blinding Introduction.
This document describes the procedures and method of work of executing blinding
works in tower-C of Tamdeen Square Residential Project. Works shall be carried out in
compliance with the drawing and project specification.
Equipment and Tools.

Heavy Equipment Truck mixer, Plate compactor and crane facility or mobile pump for
pouring concrete
Activities Equipment Wheel borrow, Surveying Instrument, Metal Tape

Materials and Reference

Materials 15 Mpa Blinding Concrete SRC type V (K-150 Grade)

Section B: Prerequisite
1. Testing works for the piles shall be completed prior to blinding works.
2. Work will commence after prerequisite activities such as drainage works etc. If
applicable.

Section C: Work Procedure

1. Setting out

Surveyor would conduct site survey to establish the lines and levels of the areas
of the blinding to be casted. The mark shall be as per the approved drawing.

2. Application

The shuttering form on the blinding must be fixed, aligned and leveled properly
before start pouring concrete.
A check list will be submitted to the Engineer to check the setting out, soil
compaction, dimensions, alignment, thicken and the level for the shutter of the
blinding.
The Anti-termite shall be sprayed on the compacted blinding area by using the
approved materials.

The newly placed Anti-termite shall be properly covered by using approved

polythene sheet commonly with a 250 micron thickness.
After completion of compaction and application of Anti-termite, the blinding shall
then be casted.
The concrete must cast within 24 hours after the Anti-termite has been placed.
Skilled laborers will be provided with all safety requirements such s safety helmet,
overalls, safety shoes, goggles, gloves, vest etc.
Safety precautions will be taken in to considerations starting from the site entrance
gate including the pump and trucks access till the surrounding of the casting area.
Proper light will be available for when of concrete pouring at night.
The blinding thickness shall be achieved as per drawing or specification.
Casting sequence for tower C is as per attached sketch.
The casted blinding will be cured properly.
Concrete must be cured from two to three times daily for a period of 7 days.
The blinding shall then be protected with safety warning notice to prevent the
casted blinding from damages may cause by the working machineries.
The surface of blinding shall be made smooth by troweling, repair of thermal cracks
and make true leveling to receive water proofing membrane.

Section D: Safety

All works will comply with the safety procedure or instruction as set out in project
safety plan and municipality rules and regulations.
Basic PPE will be worn by all staff or laborers.
Trained operator or drivers would be engaged to control or operate heavy
equipment machine
