Asking them questions during reading the text about the ghaf tree to check
their understating.
I will check students understanding of the vocabulary while they are writing
their sentences and that will help me in future planning and if there students
did not understand I will help them.
I will assess students understanding of writing sentences and I will give them
feedback on their strengths and weaknesses (I will write the feedback on their
papers).
I will scaffold the students who need one to one support during activity time
and I will scaffold the writing sentences on the board.
I will collect the worksheets from the students to look at and analysis students
work and write the points that they struggle in to help them.

Personal focus

In this lesson I am working on my research about active learning and my focus in this
lesson is observing students motivation when using active learning. In this lesson I
use dialogue strategy and I will analysis how this affect in students participation to
increase learning and students motivation. Also, I will observe students motivation;
especially, I will observe students engagement, students enthusiasm in the lesson. I
will write down my reflection after the lesson and what did I observed. Moreover, I
will video some stages in the lesson so I can analysis it after the class.

Teaching Competencies focus

In this lesson I will work on one of the significant teaching competencies which is
implementing and managing learning. I will focus on managing learning including
using diverse teaching techniques such as teaching new vocabulary using flashcards
and diagram, using dialogue between students and the teacher, using effective
questions techniques that focus in all students abilities and focus on details while
Im teaching. Moreover, I will use scaffolding in my lesson to support students in
writing and speaking. Also, I will use peer pressure to encourage students in the
classroom. I think that with using different techniques it helps to create powerful
environment that full of learning.

Teaching Strategies:
Teaching strategies: using flashcards, using modeling strategy such as model

sentences for them by write it in the board, using dialogue teacher to students and
student to student. Also, I will link the lesson to their own experience to maximum
students interest for instance, I will ask them if they ever see ghaf tree when they
went to the desert. Moreover, I will scaffold the learning as many students need
support and help.
Classroom management strategies: using the rules and remind the students of

them, use gestures because that affect a lot on students and manage the class. Also,
I will use phrases to stop them from work and the one that I been using it with them
is stop, look and listen and they replay we are listening. Moreover, I will use MENTOS
because it include every aspect related to manage the classroom.
Behavioral management strategies: using eye contact for example; when any

student misbehave I will look into their eyes until they stop misbehaving, use ripple
effect by correct students behavior so it affects positively in the other students.
Also, if someone misbehave I will stop the class and say when you finish just tell me
and I will use it in serious situation. Moreover, I will use the group discipline system;
for instance, when someone in the group misbehave I will put for them yellow face.
Feedback strategies: Use verbal feedback such as good, very good, excellent, good

job, well done, think about it and all these verbal feedback depends on the students
response. Expanding this kind of feedback; during discussion time I will give students
feedback on their responses to let them think more about the issue that they have to

discuss it. For instance, I will tell ask them How do you know that? Or what will be
happen in the future? Such these kinds of feedback will help students re-think about
the issue more in depth.
On writing I will give the students feedback on their strengths and weaknesses. I will
also write feedback; I will write what things that they need to work on their
sentences and writing generally.
Materials & Resources: The reading in page (44), worksheet, picture of ghaf tree,
flashcards on the new vocabulary, video (song about the trees), presentation that include
some questions.
Technology integration: using the data show to present the video, using

presentation slides to present the questions.

ENGAGE -Introduction: Asking students questions about the desert.

Did you ever go to the desert?
What kinds of animals you see there?
What kinds of plants you see there?
Now we will learn about the ghaf tree.
Do you like to learn about the desert and why?
PHASE ONE
The teacher will put the text in
the board and she will read with
the students and she will ask the
students to repeat with her.
While reading the teacher will
ask the students questions and
she will also introduce the new
vocabulary for them and put it in
a word bank.
(In the carpet).

Students will read the text

with the teacher and answer
questions related to the text.
Students will repeat the new
vocabulary.

This phase is link with my

research because there
will be dialogue between
the teacher and the
students. The teacher
will analysis students
participation and how it
increase learning and
students motivation.

PHASE TWO
The teacher will give the
students worksheet and read
the questions with them. The
teacher will ask them to work
alone.

Students
will
read
the
question with the teacher and
solve the questions by their
own.

(In their desks).

Differentiation:
When students done with their
questions I will let them open
their
books
and
practice
reading.
PHASE THREE
The teacher will ask the
students to close their eyes and
lesson to the text again to
practice listening.

Students will close their eyes

and listen to the text.

EXTEND
The teacher will ask the
students to work in group of
three and answer the questions
verbally after they discuss with
each other.
Do you think its important to
learn about the ghaf tree and
why?

Students have to work as

group of three and discuss to
answer the questions.

This phase is link with my

research
because
students
will
work
together. I would see how
students interact with
each other and find
answers
(analysis
cooperative work if it
improve or not).

Do we have to protect the ghaf

tree and why?
LESSON CLOSURE
The teacher will show the
students song about the tree
and ask them to sing with the
video and act.

Students will watch the video

and sing with the video and
also they will act.

The teacher will analysis

students motivation as
they will sing and act (I
