Overview
What?
Work-related injuries are injuries or illnesses that
occur in relation to an employees job (arises out
of and in the course of employment)
Reportable injuries per OSHA if result in death,
days away from work, restricted work or transfer,
medical treatment beyond first aid, loss of
consciousness

So what?
4,679 fatal work injuries (highest since 2011); 3.3
per 100,000 full-time equivalent workers (FTW)
(continued decrease)
Nearly 3 million nonfatal workplace injuries and
illnesses reported by private industry employers in
2014 (54,000 fewer than 2013); 722,300 public
Rate of 3.2 cases per 100 FTW (0.1 fewer) for
private industry; 5.2 for public sector
