Purpose
Statement
The
purpose
of
Hogwartss
choirs
is
to
create
a
safe
space
for
all
students
of
all
abilities,
develop
relationships,
foster
the
love
of
singing,
and
strengthen
musical
skills,
knowledge,
and
performance.
Ensembles
Salazar
Singers:
Non-auditioned
ensemble
open
to
students
of
any
grade.
Godric
Gals:
Non-auditioned
ensemble
of
women
open
to
any
grade.
Rowena
Rhythm:
Auditioned
womens
ensemble
open
to
any
grade.
Helgas
Harmony:
Auditioned
ensemble
open
to
students
of
third
year
or
higher.
Grading
Policy

Individual
Assessment
Daily
participation
means
students
are
participating
and
engaging
in
rehearsal,
giving
100%
effort,
are
on
time,
are
following
classroom
rules.
Student
will
lose
points
if
they
are
late,
are
not
participating,
or
not
following
classroom
rules.
Performance
participation
means
students
are
on
time
for
performances,
wearing
proper
attire,
are
participating
and
engaging
in
concert
performance,
and
are
following
proper
concert
etiquette.
Individual
assessment
means
students
will
be
tested
on
their
repertoire
and
given
a
sight-reading
exercise
three
times
a
semester.
Students
can
choose
to
be
tested
in
a
group
of
four
or
less,
individually,
submit
a
video
recording,
or
create
an
individual
audio
recording
in
class
during
rehearsal.
Extra
credit
opportunity:
Audition
for
or
participate
in
honors
ensembles

bring

Attend
concert
outside
of

and

Attire
Each
student
will
wear
a
robe
provided
by
Hogwarts.
A
$20
fee
will
be
required
of
each
student
so
the
robes
can
be
cleaned
at
the
end
of
each
year.

Students
can
letter
in
choir
when
they
are
of
third
year
standing
and
have
participated
in
at
least
two
extra
opportunities
outside
of
the
choir
day.
Fundraising
Each
student
will
have
the
option
to
fundraise
money
for
the
annual
choir
exchange
trip
to
Beauxbatons
Academy
of
Magic
or
Durmstrang
Institute.
The
money
they
raise
will
be
placed
into
an
individual
account
for
each
student.
After
the
student
graduates,
if
there
is
remaining
money
in
their
account,
the
money
will
be
donated
to
the
music
department
of
Hogwarts.
