Is the law of refraction the same for light rays going in either

direction between two media?

yes, it holds true, you my have to add a negative but the general principle
works for both directions

Yes. The mathematical law involving the indicies of refraction n1 & n2 and the
angles A1 & A2 as; n1 Sin(A1) = n2 Sin(A2)will work regardless of which way
the light is traveling. Just associate the variables n & A with the correct
medium

3. Is the law of refraction the same for light rays going in either
direction between the two media?

The two indices of refraction are almost identical to each other, so

the Law of Refraction is the same for light rays going in either direction
between the two media.

4. Does the principle of optical reversibility hold for reflection as

well as refraction? Explain.

Yes it does, because the angle of reflection equals the angle of

incidence regardless of where the light comes from.

Why can't a ray be transmitted beyond a definite angle?

A ray of light is like a series of beads in a necklace. All the Particle of light
( like beads )are spaced equally apart and the motion keeps them at equaldistance.
The reflection or absorption of the incident ray depends on the medium its
going thru.
At a certain angle of incidence depending on the surface of the medium the
light ray would be reflected. At other angle the ray is refracted. Different
mediums refract light rays differently. The Sun ,for Example. has at the
surface a medium which would refract a light ray. Its refraction angle index

would be approx 70%. Thus any light ray from other sources would be
refracted thru the Sun surface medium.
If the medium density changes the angle of refraction would also change.
