(Lewistown), and WLAK-FM 103.5 (Huntingdon). Audio of Spikes games will also be avail-
able locally in State College on Cable Television Channel 4, and worldwide on 3WZ.com.

Audio for all 76 games will also be available through StateCollegeSpikes.com and MILB.
com.

Calling all the action will be Steve Jones and Joe Putnam.

STEVE JONES 5th SEASON

Steve enters his fifth season as the Voice of the Spikes. Since 1982, Jones
has broadcast over 700 games as the play-by-play announcer for Penn State
mens basketball, including the Nittany Lions three appearances in the NCAA
tournament during that span. Prior to the 2000 season, Jones took over for
the legendary Fran Fisher as the voice of Penn State football, where he was
partnered with former PSU star and Steelers Hall of Famer Jack Ham. In
addition to his responsibilities with Penn State athletics, Jones is the sports
director at 95.3 FM 3WZ (WZWW-FM) as well as one of the hosts of the
Steve and Steve morning show.

Jones started covering Penn State as a student at the university, broadcast-

ing football and mens basketball for WDFN, the campus radio station, as an
under-grad. From 1983-1990, Jones served as pre-game, halftime and
post-game host for football on the Penn State Sports Network. From 1991-2000, Jones served as the
public address announcer for Beaver Stadium home games. Jones has also done work with WPSU-TV
for their mens and womens volleyball as well as working on the Emmy-Award winning Penn State
Football Story television show.

Steve graduated from PSU in 1980 with a degree in Speech Communication and Broadcasting, before
becoming Sports Director at WMAJ Radio in State College. From 1980-90, Jones hosted a nightly
call-in show as well as broadcasting State College High School football games for the station. Upon
leaving WMAJ, Jones began working with 3WZ in his current capacity.

Jones, who was born in Enfield, CT, currently lives in State College with his wife Kathy and their five
children: Jen (27), Mike (25), Dan (21), Chris(17) and Megan (10).

JOE PUTNAM 3rd SEASON

Joe enters his third season as play-by-play broadcaster for the Spikes. A na-
tive of Bellefonte, PA, the 23-year-old graduated from Syracuse University in
2007 with a bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Newhouse
School of Public Communications. While at Syracuse, Joe worked at WAER-
FM, hosting pre-game and post-game shows for the stations coverage
of Orange football, mens basketball, and mens lacrosse games. Joe also
hosted the weekly magazine show Sportsnight on WAER, which won the
Syracuse Press Club award for Best Sports Radio Show in the market in
2005.

After graduation, Joe worked for the Auburn Doubledays as assistant

director of broadcasting and media relations, and was on the mic when the
Doubledays won the 2007 New York-PennLeague title.

Joe has also twice appeared on the ESPN sports trivia game show Stump
the Schwab.
