INTRODUCTION
The purpose of the Contingency Plan is to establish procedures to recover from any risks
mentioned in the Risk Register or any unforeseen risks that affects the development of the ECommerce Website for the client, General Supplies. The plan will focus on maximizing the
effectiveness of contingency operations through an established plan that involves the following
steps:
While the Contingency Plan provides guidelines and documentation for emergency
response, resumption and recovery planning efforts, it is just that, a set of guidelines. It is not
intended to be a substitute to informed-decision making on part of the project team and project
sponsor. This plan is also an on-going activity to construct plans as environmental factors change,
train employees, develop and revise policies and standards as project progresses, and perform plan
maintenance activities.
SCOPE
The scope of the Contingency Plan applies to all risks that may or may not be associated
with the E-Commerce Website project for General Supplies. This includes any risks that have been
identified in the Risk Register or any unforeseen risks that have not yet been identified. The plan
will also include the procedures involved with responding to risks.
LINE OF SUCESSION
The Line of Succession lays out the order in which each of the project team members or
stakeholders is to be contacted in the event of a risk.

CONTINGENCY PHASES
The Contingency Plan will be officially managed by the Project Manager, with the Project
Sponsors approval. However, each team member will be responsible for those risks that are related
to their phase in the project (these individuals will be the risk managers, assigned by the Project
Manager as the time, during which risk likelihood is increased, approaches).
Response Phase
Resumption Phase
Project Manager and the Risk Manager will deploy the respective risk mitigation/response
plan for the event.
Any changes that need to be made will come from the Risk Manager and approved by the
Project Manager, with the Project Teams consult.
Risk Manager and Project Manager will activate any necessary members of the Project
Team to support to the resumption process.
If the event has a big impact, the Project Sponsor will be updated regarding the status of
the risk and the risk response progress.
Project Manager will head the communication aspect of notifying all vendors regarding the
event. The Risk Manager will draft the appropriate correspondences.
Recovery Phase
The Risk Manager and the Project Team will work closely to recover from the event,
reporting event status to the Project Manager every couple of days (exact time period
depends on the impact of the event time period determined by the collaboration of the
Risk Manager and the Project Manager.).
If Project Sponsors approval is required for any action pertaining to recovery, the Project
Manager will be responsible for that correspondence.
Restoration Phase
Project Manager and Risk Manager will prepare the necessary procedures to restore proper
business functions and place the project back on track.
Risk Manager will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the risk (or likelihood of
event reoccurring) and reporting the status to the Project Team and Project Manager during
the weekly meeting.
In case the risk has a high impact and occurs before the weekly meeting, the Risk Manager
is expected to the contact the Project Manager as necessary.
ASSUMPTIONS
The assumptions upon which the Contingency Plan hinges on are as follows:
While the risks that may occur are likely to have been predicted in the Risk Register, some
risks may be unforeseen and, therefore, not a part of the Risk Register.
The Project Sponsor will only be contacted in events of high impact to project success.
(These indicators have been defined in the Risk Management Plan).
BACK UPS
All development progress and project management documentation will be regularly backed
up to a cloud storage. This back up will occur in real-time, with full system backups occurring
every week.
