Assignment Brief
An organization is a group of individuals who work together towards common goals. For
this assignment, you need to choose an organization that uses information systems for their
current business operations. .
After selecting the organization, get an understanding of the structures and processes, nature
of the business they engage in, different functional areas, etc. You should identify the
various business processes and structures of the organization and the types of information
systems they are using. Also identify information and knowledge requirements, roles of
people, processes and technologies and tools used within the organization context.
Assignment Tasks
1. Identify a system to be implemented in the selected organization and
evaluate different systems lifecycle models which can be used for the
selected system. ( LO 1.1)
2. Identify the most suitable system development life cycle model for the
selected system. Describe each phase of the life cycle model ( LO 1.1)
3. Discuss the importance of following procedural lifecycles in system
investigation, provide examples with your experience (LO1.2)
4. What do you understand by feasibility report; discuss the components of a
feasibility report. (LO 2.1)
5. What do you understand by different feasibility criteria on a systems
investigation, assess the impacts of using feasibility criteria to evaluate the
feasibility of the selected system. (LO 2.2)
6. Investigate the business needs of each department/ functional area of the
organization that you have selected. LO3.1) .
7. Discuss the system analysis tools and techniques you recommend to carry
out investigation, Justify your recommendation. (LO3.2).
8. Develop a requirement specification for the investigation carried out for the
identified system. (LO3.3)
9. Evaluate how user and system requirements have been addressed with
relevant to the identified system. (LO3.4)
