Set Induction- Today we are

going to be doing line dances.
Line dance is an exciting way to
dance because you can dance
with your friends at the same
time, performing the same
dance moves in sync! (Just like
the last dance we just did!)
Today we will be covering the
Hoedown Throwdown and
Cotton Eyed Joe if we have
time.
Activity/Task- Hoedown
throwdown: The students will be
split into 4 even size groups.
Each group of students will
have a teacher who will walk
them through the steps of the
hoedown throwdown. First go
through the steps without the
music. When the students have
an idea of the steps put on the
music and all groups will go
through the moves separately,
but simultaneously. Form them
into one group. Then put on the
music and have the students
complete the dance as one
group. The students will follow
along with the song and
perform each of the dance
moves upon hearing its name
during the song.
