ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Raluca-Maria Trifa graduated in 2009 from Politehnica University,
Faculty of Architecture, Timisoara. Since 2011, the author was enrolled in a
PhD Program at Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism,
Bucharest with a thesis that focused on the cultural regeneration of industrial
heritage. In December 2015 Raluca-Maria Trifa has publically defended her
Ph.D. thesis entited Possibilities for the Sustainable Rehabilitation of the
Historic Industrial Architecture - The case of Timioara, which was highly
appreciated by the commission and received Summa cum Laude honour.
ABSTRACT
Crossing Boundaries: A New Methodological Model for the
Evaluation of Industrial Heritage
Based on a professional and emotional motivation, the proposed topic
appeares on the background of an irreversible loss of valuable Romanian
industrial heritage. In this regard, the paper entited Crossing Boundaries: A
New Methodological Model for the Evaluation of Industrial Heritage intends
to offer appropriate answers, concerning the challenges faced by significant
industrial architecture examples and aims to investigate the contemporary
approach regarding the existing methodology for evaluating the industrial
heritage.
