SiouxTribalCouncilinanongoingefforttofindapeacefulresolutiontoissuesinvolvingtheDakotaAccess
Pipelineandtodiscusstheimportanceofrebuildingstrong,longtermrelationshipsbetweenthestateandthe
StandingRockSiouxTribe.

Thereisagreatdealofoutsideinfluenceatplaysurroundingtheongoingpipelineprotestsincluding
thearrivalofmanyoutofstateagitators,butitsveryimportantthatwedonotletthisissuedivideusasa
state,Dalrymplesaid.TherelationshipsthathavebuiltbetweenthestateandmembersoftheStandingRock
SiouxTribeareimportant,andwillcontinuetobeimportantlongafterthepipelineissueisresolved.

AlthoughDalrympleandotherstateofficialshaveremainedinregularcontactwithtribalofficialsand
protestcampleaderstopromotepublicsafety,DalrymplesaidheisaskingforameetingwiththeentireTribal
Counciltofocusoncooperationandgoodwill.

IamaskingtheStandingRockTribalCounciltomeetwithmesothatwecanworktowardaresolution
ofthepipelineissue,buttoalsofocusonmaintainingtherelationshipsthatareveryimportanttousall,
Dalrymplesaid.

MembersofDalrymplesstaffbegantodaycontactingStandingRockTribalCouncilmembersinan
efforttoscheduleameeting.
