Welcome to Class
Always greet the students at the door when they arrive to class. Quickly establish
routine of quietly retrieving and storing materials in and under the desk out of the
walkways. Establish a consistent routine of working quietly in seats when the bell
rings. Quiet time will include taking role of attendance.
Transitions
Demonstrate proper procedures for quietly organizing desks and for lining up and
preparing to transition to and from class. In addition, there will be verbal cues to
signal transitions between activities during class. The cue will be refocus.
Student Engagement
Each day / each class will start with incorporate a focus to get the students
engaged and ready to begin learning. Each class will begin with a hook to help
reel in the attention of the students.
