1871 respondents: 633 Emerging Millennials (18-25); 686 Older
Millennials (26-33); 552 Gen-Xers (33-39)
Respondent quotas were matched to Census ACS 2014 rates
based on race/ethnicity, renter/owner occupied housing status
Post-survey stratified weighting was applied due to male
undersampling

EMERGING VS. ADULT MILLENNIALS REPRESENT DIFFERENT


POPULATIONS
Emerging (18-25) and Adult Millennials (26-33) are in
different life stages, different living situations, and
express different housing behaviors and needs.
Emerging Millennials are much more likely to live with
family, are less familiar with the local and state housing
market (rental and purchase).
Adult Millennials who live at home, are more likely to live
in renting households.
