Journal Entry Prompts:

In your literacy journals, write about the difference between a

fact and an opinion.

While viewing the image on the board, write three facts and
three opinions about what you see in your literacy journals.

Think about a person that you admire. In your literacy journals,

write three facts about that person, and then write an opinion for
each fact. (Think about reasons why you admire that person.)

Admit Slip Questions:

What is confusing you about Fact and Opinion?

What question(s) do you have about your upcoming
autobiography project?
What do you dislike about this unit so far? (It could be a
particular homework assignment, class activity, or a topic that
you dislike.)

Exit Slip Questions:

Write one opinion from todays class reading and circle the clue
word in the statement. (You must also include who had this
opinion and what the opinion was about. Do not just write the
statement.)

What is the main difference between a fact and an opinion?

Why is it important that we know the difference between a fact

and an opinion?
