This article in my critical essay and it describes hip injuries in athletics in depth. There is
also a case study of a woman who has knee pain. This knee pain is also aggravated by
movement activity. This article explains joint injuries, patellofemoral pain, ligament pain,
and biomechanics. Anterior cruciate ligament rupture is one of the injuries discussed
which is three to five times more likely to happen to women than men. MRIs have also
been helpful in diagnosing injuries and their relative pain in the body.

This article is about Paul Nogier, MD, of Lyon, France. He discovered auriculotherapy in
1950s, which was the use of the inverted fetus to decrease pain in individuals.
Auriculotherapy uses pinpoints on individuals earns to find the pain in their body and
decrease pain. Paul Nogier also discovered advanced pathophysiology in Phases 2 and 3,
however the author of the article does not believe these phases do not help pain as much
as Phase 1.

This video was interesting to watch because it went through types of training, planning
training sessions, psychological preparations, and pushing the boundaries. The types of
training are cardio, aerobic, anaerobic, and weight training to name a few. Throughout the
video there are also examples of different athletes who use different training techniques
and they help to describe them. The training sessions are important because the amount of
work an athlete is doing before a game or after a game changes on the situation.
Psychological preparations such as visualization and mental preparing are useful
according to the athletes in the video.

This source would be useful to use while writing a paper because it can be used for
looking up terms found in the other sources. This dictionary covers biomechanics,
exercise physiology, nutrition, sports psychology, sports injuries, and training principles,
which are the subjects of my other sources and the subject of my research.

This book describes the many types of injuries that can be sustained during sports. This
book is split into five different sections. They are: confusing classifications of injury,
improper planning and training periodization, whole body postural control and balance,
progressive muscle fatigue and overloading, and nutritional aspects. This book seeks to
explain the latest developments in training perspectives that are supposed to keep
athletes injury-free. The book also describes new technology and equipment being used
to make sports safer. With the description of injuries, the authors also note the
consequences of these injuries.
