Welcome
Thank you for your purchase of Kinivos Bluetooth USB Adapter (Version 4.0). The Bluetooth
USB Adapter creates cable-free connections between your PCs and other Bluetooth devices at
speeds of up to 24Mbps. Bluetooth USB Adapter supports the latest Bluetooth version 4.0
specification standards and is compatible with all Bluetooth certified devices.

Before you start


Please note that the default Windows drivers may provide limited functionality. It is
recommended to install the drivers as suggested in this user manual.
Please remove any previous version of Bluetooth software that may exist in your system.
The removal procedure is as follows:

Step 1: Click Start/Settings, then select Control Panel
n
Step 2: In the Control Panel window, double click Add/Remove programs icon
n
Step 3: Locate the program WIDCOMM or any other Bluetooth Software and remove it

Driver Installation
The following steps guide you through installation of the WIDCOMM Bluetooth driver in
Windows Vista or Windows 7 (Screen shots may vary slightly on Windows Vista users). Please
note that you can either follow the Online procedure (internet access required) or the Alternate
procedure (CD based).

Online Procedure
Do not plug the dongle.
Download the latest drivers from Broadcom website (BTD-400 uses broadcom chipset)
http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php (alternatively search broadcom
bluetooth driver on the internet make sure you download only from www.broadcom.com).

Run the installer it will ask to insert the dongle.

Finish the installation.

Alternate Procedure

Step 1:
The BTD-400 package should include a software CD
corresponding to your Windows version. Insert the
software CD into CD/DVD drive of your PC. An autoinstallation program will start to guide you through the
process.

Step 2:
Please click Yes to continue installation.

Step 3:
Click Agree and Install Bluetooth Software to continue.

Step 4:
The software installation will continue.

Step 5:
The installation program will remind you to plug in the
Bluetooth USB Adapter if you did not insert it into your
PC. This dialog box will not pop up if you
already have a Bluetooth USB Adapter in your PC.

Step 6:
Click Finish to complete installation.
