What I got from the reading Platos theory of forms is that every object or
concept in the visible world has a perfect representation in heaven. So the
ideal form can be seen as a blueprint that we as human beings only follow to
create a likeness of that perfect form. In the reading Plato uses a bed as an
example and a painter, stating that the painter is not a joiner and therefore
does not know how to put the bed together and yet he can paint an
extremely good likeness of the bed. So according to this theory Plato is
saying that mankind is just imitating the perfect forms that were already
created when the universe formed, therefore we are simply representing
what our saw in heaven before entering into our physical bodies.

CR.
I disagree with Platos theory of forms.
1. The main reason I disagree is that it cant be proven, there is no way
that you can prove that there is a perfect form of anything.
2. The other reason that I disagree with Platos theory of forms is the idea
of perfection changes with each person. As an example I love apple pie
my mother made the best apple pie in the world, clearly thats my own
opinion and someone elses mother made them apple pie Im sure they
would have the same opinion that their mother made the best apple
pie. Therefore the concept of perfect or perfection is governed by the
persons own bias.
